The Christian Bible is composed of both the Old Testament and the New Testament; not because Christians simply pay homage to the Word that preceded Christ’s arrival and the subsequent birth of Christianity, but because both the Old and New Testaments are entwined.
The New Testament neither represents a departure from nor a revision of God’s Old Testament laws and faith. Rather it represents a fulfillment and reaffirmation of the promises made before. Jesus Christ Himself wasn’t a Christian, but a Jew and the son of God. In America, our Constitution and Declaration share a similar relationship.
Just as the New Testament doesn’t erase the Old Testament or render it obsolete, our U.S. Constitution neither erases nor renders our Declaration of Independence obsolete. Our Constitution builds upon the foundation set forth in the Declaration and fulfills the principals enshrined in that body of work.
While the Declaration lays out the reasons, rights, and justifications for our dissolution from Great Britain and abolishment of the monarchy, the Constitution lays out the legal framework for the Nation formed to replace it — an entirely new and independent country conceived to reject tyranny, insulate itself from devolving into a tyranny such as it replaced, and to institute laws that regulated, limited, and reigned in the governing rather than the governed.
Our Constitution and Declaration — taken together — codify a very unique and fundamental tenet of Americanism; namely the principle of the ‘consent of the governed.’

Those are perfectly good questions to keep in mind.
I thought the country would crash in the early 70's. I vividly remember bombings of public buildings which occurred monthly and even weekly in my county. I remember staggering inflation and 14 percent mortgage rates. I remember assassination attempts on public figures and political opponents.
My assessment of those times was mistaken. We got through them.
More recently, I remember the organized political violence of 2020 and the massive election fraud that put our current President in office. I note the abandonment of the rule-of-law and the prosecution of political opposition as a criminal offense. I notice what appear to be successful assassinations of minor public officials, their supporters, and even relatives.
I note the insane behavior of legislators in most of our States and the dominant control by leftists of every major political, cultural, and corporate institution in our country. After three decades of indoctrination in our public schools, it looks as though the younger generations coming of age are fully on board with a socialist, totalitarian government. They will not be allowed to change their minds as they grow older.
That is different from the 70's. Or the 80's Or the 2000's. Or 2016. Will we get through this one?
We got through the last sets of bad times by being lucky, not by being good. We keep rolling the dice. We have not gotten any smarter. Eventually, our luck will run out. Things we know will come to an end and the questions asked by the poster will require answers.
If (or when) that happens, the folks who prevail will be the ones who have previously worked out some viable answers.
No particular future is inevitable. Some pathways require less effort to manifest and are thus more likely than others. Other pathways require enormous efforts and look "impossible" for that reason. Maybe they are impossible. There are hard limits to everything - but most of those limits are not where we believe them to be. And many of the limits we believe in are illusions.
What is going to happen and when? Beats me. All I can do is play the odds as I perceive them and pay attention to indicators that confirm or refute my expectations.
I am all stocked up on weapons and ammunition. Getting there on food supplies. Learning what I can about emergency medical care and illness care. I have a few like-minded neighbors. (Not enough of them).
That is good enough for some of the future pathways. It is not nearly good enough for others. And it is completely wrong for certain pathways. You cannot prepare for everything. Place your bets and lay your money down.
"It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future" (Yogi Berra).
I didn’t think you meant it with the overtones that I perceived...I should have just left it at this...
Sometimes I wish I didn’t know history at all...and that history does repeat.
And, just as no person lives forever, neither does any government. I just wish it weren’t happening in front of my eyes.
America is under God’s judgment.
