A raft of evidence shows that caste discrimination has been imported from India to the United States.
Indians and Indian Americans are often held up as a “model minority” in the United States. Members of this community are more likely to be highly educated and to have health insurance, make more money, work in more senior positions, and have lower rates of poverty than both the average immigrant and the average American. They are well represented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—the so-called STEM subjects—and more and more of them occupy roles of political and social influence, including Vice President Kamala Harris. This group, so the narrative goes, exhibits the promise of the American dream.
But two lawsuits in the past year, as well as two surveys, have offered a clearer picture of this particular minority group, warts and all, finding evidence that many members of the community have imported the specifically Hindu Indian notion of casteism to America. The vocabulary may be unfamiliar to most Americans—Dalits, Brahmans, Adivasis, for example—but underlying it is a familiar, and corrosive, subject: discrimination

Among the estimated 2 million Hindu Indian-Americans, at least 2/3rd or 67% would be the upper castes (General Category) from all over India (In India upper caste Hindus form just 20% of the population). This means there are about 1.4 million Hindu upper caste citizens of the USA.
Among the Hindu upper castes in the USA the single largest community are Brahmins, who comprise anywhere between 50%(half) and 66%(two-thirds) of the Hindu General Caste American citizens. Most of these Brahmins are of Punjabi, Tamil, Gujarati and Northern Indian origin. There are Brahmins families of Bengali, Odia and Keralite origin as well.

South Indians have a much weaker caste structure. Tamils for instance. These South Indians are the core of the IT/engineering part of the Indian immigrants.
There is also a strong ethnic discrimination between Indian groups, aside from caste, just to complicate things.
Speaking as a guy who has worked with or managed quite a lot of Indians.
India is colonizing America like the British colonized India. I want no part of it. L Vivick will never get my vote. viveck is a swampy, Pharma executive and a racist Brahmin.
Appropriate screen name it certainly appears.
Doesn’t India have 10s to 100s of languages?
The creepy communist regime ruling of America has been behind the importation of foreign workers to replace Americans in order to keep control over Americans. I want no part of it.
I guess you’ve never worked in an IT department where you’re the one American out of 20 with the rest of the 19 being Indians. And no, I’m not a lowly, laptop geek. I make well into the six figures.
So you’ll be voting for Joe and Hunter again
No, I won’t be voting for Hunter and Biden and I won’t be voting for DeSantis either.
Btw, the author is a terrible whiner.
Great job commenting like a smarmy Leftist with a superiority complex. Disgusting.
Attack the messenger when you cannot attack the message.
Yes. And the differences can be extreme. Tamil for instance has no relation to Hindi or Punjabi. Its in an entirely different language family.
English is the lingua franca of India. Its also the language of instruction in higher education. But its a sort of English that takes a lot of getting used to.

Amen! And since upper caste Indians are discriminating against other castes, it follows that they discriminate against non-Indians and for others in their castes - which may be a greater cause of their professional success than actual merit.
The message in the authors case about discrimination against Indians (read it carefully) is absurdly overstated. Indians in the US should be totally grateful for the privileges they have received.
Look up the term ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ because I think you are suffering from it.
End H-1B now. Actually stop ALL immigration now.
Kinda like how a Filipino comes to America and then spends time advancing leftist arguments and causes like you do Crocodile?
