Poll: Donald Trump Towers over Michigan Primary Field with 61 Percent of Vote

More than six in ten Republican voters in Michigan back former President Donald Trump for their party’s nomination, setting him far apart from the rest of the crowded field, according to an Emerson College Polling survey.

The survey, published Friday, shows that 61 percent of registered voters who plan to vote in the GOP primary support Trump, placing him a whopping 48 points ahead of his nearest competitor, Gov. Ron DeSantis (FL), at 13 percent.

Seven percent of the respondents back former Vice President Mike Pence, which is good enough for third place, followed by 37-year-old entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy at four percent. Another three percent support former Gov. Nikki Haley (SC), as Sen. Tim Scott (SC) and former Gov. Chris Christie (NJ) tie at two percent.

Former Gov. Asa Hutchinson (AR) and Gov. Doug Burgum (ND) are the only other candidates to reach one percent, with rounding. Another six percent of voters are undecided, while one percent back another candidate.

Biden and Trump are tied at 44 percent in a hypothetical rematch of the 2020 election. When Green Party presidential candidate Cornel West is factored into the fray, Trump takes a two-point lead over Biden. In that scenario, 43 percent would vote for Trump, 41 percent would back Biden, and West would garner four percent support.

I want to remind folks to remember the difference between
Caucuses and Primaries in 2016.

Cruz won nearly all the Caucuses because the GOPe basically
ran them, and they seemed to have hand picked delegates.
Trump won all but one Primary, because registered
voters can’t be hand-picked.

Earlier today they were trying to make hay off a report
that DeSantis was at 20 and Trump was at 45 in a caucus
state, trying to play this into a vast improvement for
DeSantis. No, it just proved we’ll likely be seeing the
same 2016 dynamic playing out again.

Here it is Trump 61 with DeSantis around 13, in a primary
state.

Yeah, he’s really take a run at Trump huh.

If Michigan were first in the nation maybe the Repukes wouldn’t keep having globalist hacks as their nominees

How is that a vast improvement? Desanctimonius’ best state has always been Iowa. What did the same poll show 1 month, 2 month and 3 months ago?

Michigan was one of the states the DeSantis Super PAC was counting on a few months ago for their long-haul delegate stealing strategy. So much for that.

My point was that he isn’t taking a big run at Trump in this
primary state, where registered voters are polled rather
than hand picked delegates.

I don’t know the past figures, but if he has done a lot
better in the Caucus state, doesn’t it still wreak of
GOPe shenanigans? It’s a Caucus state and hand-picked
delegates.

If I’m not addressing your focus, please try again.

I believe most people understand now that Trump won. They also know their votes didn’t count and willing not count in the future. This is why Trump is up in the polls.

Democrats and the Deep State must stomp out those that understand the above. It’s not going to get any easier folks.

No primaries or caucuses for several months. This silly ploy won’t go anywhere.
De Santis sees straight through this lameness.

Screw 77 year old Trump, and his stupid grade school insults. Screw Fauci, and screw that horrible so called vaccine that saved nobody and killed thousands, and screw his picks like Pence, Chris Wray and Bob Barr. Screw Bolton. Screw Gen Kelly. All backstabbing monsters.

And these totally irrelevant polls won’t deter the awesome conservative governor of Florida who fires commie prosecutors without promising to do so. He spanked Disney and shredded trans school curriculums without promising to do so.

No blabber, no stupid lashing out when things don’t go his way. Just good old fashioned results from a much younger and much more conservative, Ronaldus De Santis.

Desantis support is like democrat we got Trump meme and they are truly delusional...for a unknown candidate you always poll highest when you start and go down afterwords as you become better known. It is human nature is to project on people who don’t want to vote Trump a widely known candidate...DESANTIS IS FINISHED...IT WILL BE COME CLEAR ONCE CAUCASUS AND VOTING STARTING AND HIS SHILLS WILL HAVE NO WHERE TO HIDE TO TALK SHIT ANYMORE.
