Ukraine said it had carried out a sea drone attack on a Russian naval base, as dramatic videos appeared to show a damaged Russian warship listing heavily in the Black Sea early Friday.

Social media images showed the ship being towed near the Novorossiysk naval base, despite earlier claims by the Russian defense ministry that the attack had been repelled.

A Ukrainian source told CNN that a sea drone with 450 kilograms of TNT had attacked the ship and claimed there were about 100 Russian servicemen aboard.

“A big navy ship Olenogorsky Gornyak was hit,” the source told CNN. “As the result of the attack, the Russian ship has received serious damage and is not able to fulfill its duties.”

Beyond the damage to the ship, the optics are not good and additional resources are going to have to be diverted to what I imagine they thought was a safe haven.

Much has been debated on the effectiveness of the sanctions, and the condition of the Russian economy cannot be truly calculated. IE. black market, sanction busting countries…
What cannot be debated is that this war is costing Russia greatly in additional expenses like fixing kersch bridge, other infrastructure, costs to run the “smo “ etc.
These are additional expenditure that the Russian economy would have had difficulty handling before the war, much more so now.

They have very limited capability to repair let alone replace these ships. Would be good to see more of the missile carriers hit, but I will take it

As I have previously posted, if the people running puppet joe Biden are truly serious about stepping this up effectively, they can pour efforts into crash mass producing attack drones of all kinds and flood them to the Ukes to hit the Russuans in all ways and demoralize their population. Take out Russian railways, port capability ( they only have 3 ports?) And manufacturing sites. As well as troops and vehicles.

Send the Ukes a million dronesof various types with help to precisely guide them.
Oh, and massively pump and sell oil from here in USA to crash the world price. That alone might force Russia to curb their invasion.

Another brilliant tactical move by Putin, tricking Ukraine into converting this ship into a submarine for free!

“This is not the first time Ukraine has tried to hit the Novorossiysk port, and the reasons are obvious.

Around 1.8m barrels of oil are exported from there every day - around 2% of the global supply.

It is also an important naval base for Moscow”

All that and now they need to increase their alert status.
And the Russians on alert get bored and need to have a smoke or two...

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/08/meat-grinder-ukraine-loses-43000-soldiers-since-june/

“Since the start of the so-called ‘offensive,’ the Ukrainian armed forces lost over 43,000 soldiers in June-July. This number does not include the injured, who were evacuated to hospitals in Ukraine and abroad, foreign mercenaries as well as the soldiers that were neutralized in long-range high-precision strikes in rear areas,” the Russian Ministry of Defence claimed. Gateway had estimated Ukrainian losses at 46.800, based on previous MoD figures.

“Over four thousand nine hundred units of various AFU weapons have been destroyed on the line of contact, including 26 aircraft, 9 helicopters, 1,831 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, including 25 German-manufactured Leopard tanks, 7 French AMX wheeled tanks and 21 U.S.-manufactured Bradley IFVs. In addition, the enemy losses were 747 field artillery pieces and mortars, including 76 U.S.-manufactured M777 artillery systems, as well as 84 self-propelled artillery systems from Poland, the United States, France and Germany”, the Russian ministry claimed.
