Florida has “effectively” banned AP Psychology from being taught in schools, according to a statement from the College Board.

The Florida Department of Education instructed superintendents that “teaching foundational content on sexual orientation and gender identity is illegal under state law,” according to the statement.

are they admitting psychology, the study of various psychological issues, cannot be taught without discussing homosexuality thereby admitting homosexuality is a mental disease?

So, the College Board is saying that gender benders have mental issues.

Got it.

It looks like the College Board is playing games again. They’re using AP Psychology as a vehicle for indoctrination and propaganda, just as they tried earlier with AP Afro American studies. Florida is having nothing to do with it, at least so long as Ron DeSantis is the governor.

Why would anyone have a problem banning disinformation? I thought the left was all about banning disinformation. Modern psychology is full of it.

I expect what they did was ban homosexual propaganda masked as psychology.

The 'College Board'. Yes, I'm certain whatever they have to say about their agenda getting rolled back will have no bias. Pump the disinformation through the usual sympathetic leftmedia news channels and bingo!

Anyone who believes this tripe needs to wise up fast. We here in Florida have said, "No pedos, no groomers, no woke crap of any sort", and we meant it. And so did DeSantis and our elected reps in Tallahassee when they signed multiple laws to this effect.

Most of the AP classes are hopeless propaganda.

It’s not just psychology.

The AP Human Geography (or whatever it was) was the worst pro-Arab anti-Israel propaganda I’ve seen outside of Gaza textbooks.

Called Jews ethnically cleansed out of Jordan/Egypt into Israel “colonialism”.

Mine didn’t either. Mainly because if you are that out of touch with reality you should be hospitalized

Psychology as its taught is basically a pseudoscience. At the HS level it’s about as scientific as phrenology. So even if the claim was true, it would be an improvement.

I notice many posters to the thread have given up on academics. You have surrendered. You have grown tired of winning. You are into defining losing as winning.

No. Absolutely no.

We CAN win elections (actually win them), then take over the bureaucracy and change things.

This will require the kind of detailed work we see going on in Florida.

Florida may be the first state, but we can bring this fight to most of them, and eventually we will be able to bring this fight to all of them.

Psychology was always mystical witch doctor stuff. Then in the 70s they became political.

"Well, that’s a start. Now to teach the children to pray."
I wasn't raised religiously, but in elementary school in Maryland before WWII, we started the day with the pledge allegiance to the flag and The Lord's Prayer. Some how it seemed right to me.

If the Bible is banned, why shouldn’t psychology be banned? It is also a belief system, not a hard science.
