Didn’t we do something like this near the “Shores of Tripoli”?

Past time to sink the entire Iranian Navy.Joe Biden may have to do that. They think he wouldn't dare because he's not Bush or Trump.

Escalation scenario. Marines ‘pepper-up’ some patrol boat. Four boats on the next attack....one or two sunk. Missile launch occurs....protected ship sinks.
You now have some 3rd-world military dragging the US into a mini-war.

If the oil is going to China, let China blast the Iranians.

Who is even left in the Marines to carry out an idiotic mission like this?

It is more duty than a mission.

Yeah, but who is even left to carry it out? Anyone with a brain or a moral compass should have been gone by now.

It is one thing to know what the left is doing to our military but it is a few years premature to think there aren’t still a lot of top people filling the ranks.

If we pumped our own oil we wouldnt have this problem
To: Alberta's Child
To avoid responding to a lot of arguments about angels on the head of a pin I would do better to use the words there are plenty of “good” people still in the ranks.

Unless the ships are US flagged vessels, we have no business defending other nations ships.

Unless the ships are US flagged vessels, we have no business defending other nations ships. Very true.
The Neocons and Israel have been trying to get us to "take out" Iran since before the Iraq War.
Remember Bush's "Axis of Evil" -- Iraq, Iran, North Korea.
I forget which of Bush's speechwriters coined that phrase.

You now have some 3rd-world military dragging the US into a mini-war.
First, don’t forget about the environmental disaster that will happen if they hit a loaded tanker.
Second, there’s a better than average chance this isn’t a mini-war. It could be more like a catalyst for a much, much bigger war.
And, sadly, the US doesn’t have the leadership to deal with such a thing. 81,000,000 “voters” made sure of that because the previous guy was a big meanie and wrote mean tweets.

Don’t be such a cowardly neo-isolationist. The U.S. should protect foreign-flagged vessels as a matter of principle. For Ukraine, or some sh!t like that.
