FIRST ON FOX: Former President Trump was indicted Tuesday on charges stemming from Special Counsel Jack Smith's investigation into the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, Fox News Digital has learned.
Trump was indicted on four federal charges out of the probe, including Conspiracy to Defraud the United States; Conspiracy to Obstruct an Official Proceeding; Obstruction of, and Attempt to Obstruct an Official Proceeding; and Conspiracy Against rights.
This is the second federal indictment the former president faces out of Smith’s investigation. Trump, who leads the 2024 GOP presidential primary field, has already pleaded not guilty to 37 counts related to his alleged improper retention of classified records from his presidency.
Those charges include willful retention of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice and false statements. Trump was charged with an additional three counts as part of a superseding indictment out of that probe last week.
This is the second time in U.S. history that a former president has faced federal criminal charges.
"This is nothing more than the latest corrupt chapter in the continued pathetic attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their weaponized Department of Justice to interfere with the 2024 Presidential Election, in which President Trump is the undisputed frontrunner, and leading by substantial margins," a Trump campaign spokesperson told Fox News Digital. "But why did they wait two and a half years to bring these fake charges, right in the middle of President Trump’s winning campaign for 2024? Why was it announced the day after the big Crooked Joe Biden scandal broke out from the Halls of Congress?"
"The answer is, election interference!" the spokesperson continued. "The lawlessness of these persecutions of President Trump and his supporters is reminiscent of Nazi Germany in the 1930s, the former Soviet Union, and other authoritarian, dictatorial regimes."

However it goes down or even doesn't go down, the election official results are going to be so lopsided against Trump that there may well be some serious unrest and balkiness to cooperate with federal authorities after. The population transfer now underway to and from the Constitutionally minded and the Collectivist states states will likely increase by a bunch after the obviously phony election and some states will try to pull away and fence themselves off from DC. In this I am being perhaps overly optimistic but L&Led.
True, good point. A grand jury does not see evidence or rebuttal presented by the defense. They only see the prosecution side of a case.
Fearful that if they speak out they may contribute to Trump’s hiatal re-election. Most of them would prefer a Commie they can “work with” to an effective Constitutionalist that may just undermine their illegal perks of office.
Far past time to cut Trump loose...There is no way he can win an election with five pending indictments. One of them is going to stick and he is going to be in jail. And, don’t forget, even if he is elected, he can only serve one term. He will be a ‘de facto’ lame duck, on the day of his election. It’s too bad the Republicans in the race are so weak and Biden is going to have an advantage...
One would hard pressed to get any of Pelosi’s statements in the courtroom it’s a one sided trial right out of the gate.

My buy American beliefs just went out the window. I'll still avoid Made by Chicom slave labor to the best of my ability, but apart from that I don't care any more.
This country deserves everything that will happen to it as far as I'm concerned. I'm just sorry I couldn't help save it for future generations, so I'll have to leave that in God's hands.
