Former President Donald Trump’s political action committee, which began last year with $105 million, now has less than $4 million left in its account after paying tens of millions of dollars in legal fees for Trump and his associates.
The dwindling cash reserves in Trump’s PAC, called Save America, have fallen to such levels that the group has made the highly unusual request of a $60 million refund of a donation it had previously sent to a pro-Trump super PAC. This money had been intended for television commercials to help Trump’s candidacy, but as he is the dominant front-runner for the Republican nomination in 2024, his most immediate problems appear to be legal, not political.
The super PAC, which is called Make America Great Again Inc., has already sent back $12.25 million to the group paying Trump’s legal bills, according to federal records — a sum nearly as large as the $13.1 million the super PAC raised from donors in the first half of 2023. Those donations included $1 million from the father of his son-in-law, Charles Kushner, whom Trump pardoned for federal crimes in his final days as president, and $100,000 from a candidate seeking Trump’s endorsement.

DeSantis had nothing to do with January 6, trump taking home classified documents, calling the Georgia government asking to find more votes, paying a hooker with funds from his non profit, and on and on. I understand that trump is pure and does not do anything wrong according to most here. But had he done none of those things, he’d be only worried about campaigning.

It’s looking like Trump has peaked and when votes are counted in the primaries he will see support vanish.
He’s not out there running like he’s running to be POTUS and that’s telling. He had years to set himself up for 2024 and as I’ve said many times he always picked the wrong path.
Real question: if not Trump or DeSantis who is worth supporting?

For the non-political charges, maybe he should use his only money? In any case, and this goes for all politicians, campaign funds should not be allowed diverted to non-political court proceedings and attorneys.
You ask who to support. I suggest you give closer look at DeSantis—Sure, he’s getting smeared by the Always Trump folks but if you look, you’ll see he is a conservative, backs up talk with successful action, and really stands out without the baggage of Trump. He’s not GOPe or RINO or Jeb reincarnated.
All false smears. And monies, I donated to Cruz and Trump in 2016, Trump also in 2020, now DeSantis for 2024.
Anyone happy about these charges and the costs associate with then, should be zotted off this site.

In case you haven’t noticed, ALL the charges hanging over Trump are political
I’d think this would make Desantis supporters happy. I mean, Trump’s going to be spending more on his defense than running... and he’s standing back to let the others shine at the first debate. (Too bad it’s not going to help them.)
p.s. I’ve heard we’re not suppose to attack people from the left, seems like there’s more than a few people only too happy to root for the deep state.
