On March 17, Gen. Mark Milley, the chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Gen. Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, the leader of Ukraine’s armed forces, dialed into a call to discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Over the secure line, the two military leaders conferred on air defense systems, real-time battlefield assessments and shared intelligence on Russia’s military losses. They also talked about Elon Musk.

This has to do with the future control of information
How governments censor if one can eventually tap into Starlink from a phone?

Zaluzhnyi also asked if the United States had an assessment of Musk, who has sprawling business interests and murky politics — to which U.S. officials gave no answer.
Musk, who leads SpaceX, Tesla and Twitter, has become the most dominant player in space as he has steadily amassed power over the strategically significant field of satellite internet. Yet faced with little regulation and oversight, his erratic and personality-driven style has increasingly worried militaries and political leaders around the world

CONTROL: One man controls more than half the satellites in Earth orbit. The Democrats are worried that
@elonmusk
might be able to use his constellation of communication satellites to create a global free speech platform outside of their control.

Some in the GOP like restricting information.
They never liked Rush telling voters when they were being stabbed by their own party.
The radical lurch to the left began when Rush passed away.
WITHOUT STARLINK-—Ukraine would already be toast.
Whatta laff.
Ms. Milley, useless liberal arts major is worried because a better man did the impossible and blew a gaping hole in the rocket biz. Just like all Commutards, he can’t stand Atlas achieving and overshadowing him. Gotta pull him down.
In other words they haven’t been able to intimidate him into sending the piles of moola to them.
I really like my starlink.
Kind of amazing how one guy who didn’t start out with any great wealth beat everybody else including the governments of major powers. In fact, he beat them so badly they’re worried they’ll never be able to catch up.
I feel this explains why Bezos’ Blue Origin has billions in government contracts and has yet to begin viable commercial space launches. They’re trying to subvert SpaceX, IMO.
I really hope he has red pilled. He is in a position to exert a lot of influence. Damn hard to trust anyone who was foolish enough to vote for Biden and that was just 3 years ago
Elon is the source of satellite launches because of elite decay in the USA.
NASA is federal funded, has tens of billions per year, and still can’t launch satellites, which they were able to do in the 1950’s.

What kind of bandwidth (up and down) do you get?
They could have done everything he did, but he was smarter, faster, and better then they were. That’s what really pisses them off - they are not in control.
Just now... 104mbs down 31 up. 31ms latency. On my phone using wifi.
Maybe NASA can get a cut from Ukraine?
Or a loan...
“Ukraine would already be toast.”
Correct.
Their tactical and strategic comms, and drone control all depend on starlink.
May want to look into T-Mobile internet. I was surprised at the price of Starlink. Now $150 a month according to the video below plus $650 cost of equipment.
