By the end of the year, the water level at Lake Mead is expected to be almost 20 feet higher than it was in January.
Future releases from Lake Powell to Lake Mead are expected to raise the lake another six feet, the Bureau of Reclamation forecast this week.

Umm it’s 183 feet below “full pool” currently. Nice that it will be getting 26 feet back, but that’s only 1/7 of what it’s down. Still a long way to go.
How many more bodies will they find in the lake? That’s probably the actual reason the level of the lake will rise.
Ah jeeze! First the hot climate is making the lakes/water dry up.
Now it’s the water we have to worry about.
We’re all gonna DIE! We must vote demoncRAT!
“How many more bodies will they find in the lake?”
How many more bodies will they DUMP in the lake is another question.
Here’s your money quote:
This means [Lake] Powell will go from 24% full to 43% full, said Miller, and for [Lake] Mead it will go from 29% full to 31% full.
The lakes are very low. And yes they’ll be getting some rise, but will still be very low.
It’s still good news to hear.

Hotter than normal? Climate change.
Colder than normal? Climate change.
Water level lower than normal? Climate change.
Water level higher than normal? That just proves climate change is happening.
Oh definitely. Better going up than going down. I’m really more aiming at the people who think that mean’s the crisis is over. Right now the crisis MIGHT be on a mending path that, if it continues, could have it fixed by the end of the decade.
Conservation efforts my a..
The lakes are filled from the upstream rivers which saw MASSIVE amounts of rain and snow fall this year.
What’s strangely missing from this article (which is nothing more than a regurgitation of a feel good press release from the DNC feds press office) are the actual numbers of INFLOWS and OUTFLOWS.
Oh look - the lake is filling up - must be our climate change policies and covid lockdowns!
Uh oh!
STOP , you’re not suppose to talk about that ,LOL
That’s about half of what it’s down. Not uh oh at all. Good news.
True but its a nice gain given so many years of decrease. Hopefull they get good snowpacks the next few years.
I know.
Theyโre just con artists hoping to get rich off the rubes.
It is what it is...
