Yet another summer wave of COVID infections may have started. That is according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But so far, COVID's toll looks nothing like the last three summers. NPR health correspondent Rob Stein joins us now to explain. Hi, Rob.

The number of new cases almost doubled this week from what it was last week. July 20: 47,270 new cases. July 27: 92,493 new cases. This jump is what has the CDC concerned.
I know that charlatans have been quite busy cranking out the misinformation and targeting it at conservatives. They started doing this before the WHO even declared a pandemic. Since they apparently want conservatives to die, why are you helping them spread lies?
Visiting family here on Long Island, NY. Lotta cold like symptoms floating around. So weird it being mid summertime. Vax weakened immunity factors can’t be ruled out.
