Voters in the first-in-the-nation state overwhelmingly favored Trump at 41%, with DeSantis earning 11% of the support in a survey of 500 likely New Hampshire Republican Primary voters commissioned by American Greatness and run by National Research Inc.
Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) trailed behind the Florida governor, tied at 8%.
Trump also leads DeSantis as the candidate voters believe has the “best chance of beating Joe Biden,” coming in at 37%, with the Florida governor sitting at 14%.

Next week, desantis will be in single digits at this rate.
Should we be calling desanctimonious Scott Walker 2.0 ?
Get in front of people more with you re-booted campaign.Maybe those white boots your mommy made you wear.
Maybe more big man talk about woke or the plan to destroy Disney for the greater good.
DeSantis, 2028.
DESANTIS is don. Put him in the political dust bin with Pence and Christie.
>> DESANTIS is don.
No, no, NO! The problem is that DeSantis is NOT!! Don(ald) J. Trump.
(Yeah, I know it was a typo. :-) )
These polls are utter garbage.
DeSantis has been endorsed by the House Majority Leader and over 50 House members in New Hampshire, and Gov. Sununu can’t stand Trump.
Anyone who believes polls have forgotten that they’re notorious for one thing, being wrong.
Trump was at 1% in July 2015.
The first state doesn’t even vote for six more months, and that’s just one state.
Ron’s Gate Cult hardest hit.
Time for 6.0 Reboot.
>>”Come on desanctimonious. Get in front of people more with you re-booted campaign.”
Maybe he should ask Trump to hold a rally for him. It worked before.
These polls are utter garbage.

Thanks for that info from one poll at the time. Trump was still behind where DeSantis is now. The point is not these meaningless numbers, but that they are meaningless.
Yes, Trump was at 12 percent in NH in July of 2015. Who was it that was ahead of him by 30 points or more? The comparison is interesting but not the most helpful.
Actually, if you look at the direction that each candidate’s poll numbers were trending, you got an indication of who would be the eventual nominee. We’re seeing the same dynamic playing out here. There’s a big difference between polling at 11% when you were at 30% a month ago, and polling at 11% when you were polling 1% a month ago. I’m not suggesting that polls are always right, but when you see a consensus of polls moving in the same direction and when those polls are not particularly friendly towards the leading candidate, it’s worth noting.
Trump was at 12% just 2 weeks after his announcement in June 2015. He was hovering around 25-30% a month later. Desantis declared 2 months ago and his poll numbers have gone down in the wake of his announcement. So his performance so far is not comparable to Trump’s in 2015. Of course let’s not forget that Trump got 74,000,000 votes in 2020 which is by far a record for any sitting President.
It is possible that 74 million was a high water mark for an R candidate and that Trump won't reach it again in 2024. But I can guaran-damn-tee that unless Reagan rises from the grave and runs, none of the other neverTrump candidates will even break 64 million.
I was a Ron guy, but am shocked at how bad he is at campaigning at the national level.
Yeah, he’s just not good at public speaking and campaigning which is a big part of the job of President. There’s something very strange about the whole thing though. You would think that with all his money he’d be able to buy a good speech writer and deliver some good speeches.
You have to wonder. Is he being sabotaged from within his own campaign perhaps by the republican party leadership? Besides he and Trump there are no other viable MAGA candidates running for President. Hmm.
