Severe thunderstorms struck southern Michigan on Wednesday, uprooting trees, downing branches and power lines and cutting electricity to more than 140,000 customers, utilities and others reported.
DTE Energy reported nearly 108,000 customers without power as of 5:40 p.m., and Consumers Energy reported more than 32,000 without service.
The National Weather Service reported trees and tree limbs had fallen in the Detroit area, Ann Arbor and other locations across southern Michigan.

We went through that 2 weeks ago in KC. My power was out for almost 4 days. Not fun, but thank God the heat wasn’t as bad as it is this week. I did have to throw away hundreds of dollars of food.

That’s us right now. The storm hit very quickly and hard. Glad I have a generator. Supposedly we’re to get power back today.
We had power outage for nearly 2 weeks in dead of winter. (Thankfully we had wood heat, so we kept warm) What I learned? Never ever wash your hair in an iced over stream... insta headache and extreme pain! (No, I’m no polar swimmer lol)
