Ukraine’s air defence forces shot down 36 cruise missiles fired from the territory of the Russian Federation on Ukraine in the afternoon of 26 July.
Source: Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on Telegram
Quote: "Today, Ukraine’s air defence destroyed 36 aerial targets...
It was a difficult day, but thanks to the coordinated actions of all the defenders of the sky, we repelled this attack!"
Details: Oleshchuk reported that Ukrainian forces shot down three Kalibr cruise missiles and 33 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles.
The Air Force said that on 26 July, the Russian invaders launched two missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine.
The first attack took place in the afternoon. Then the air defence system destroyed three Russian Kalibr cruise missiles.
At about 17:00, the Russians attacked again from the Caspian Sea area with Kh-101/Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles. A total of 36 missiles were launched from eight Tu-95MS strategic bombers.

Russia filled the skies with 39 cruise missiles and had the zigzag around Ukraine, feigning attacks at various cities and targets. Ukraine got 36 of them, but three hit somewhere.
The interesting part is in the middle of all this Russia launched 4 Hypersonic missiles from MIG-31s and targeted the base where Ukraine keeps its MIGs that launch the Storm Shadows.
No word on the success of the principal attack, but there's good reason to believe several of those hypersonics got through.
Ukraine is so far mum. As is Russia.
Sure they did, how did they miss all the planes that they were fired from?
Russia has more missiles of this type than anyone in the World.
I’m fearful we are approaching a change in Russian attitude from restraint to on with the shock and awe.
Not directed at you, Mariner, but I don’t believe any of the reports from either side, any side, of this war.
Just let me know when the fighting stops, and then we’ll see who’s who in this.
Sure
“I’m fearful we are approaching a change in Russian attitude from restraint to on with the shock and awe.”
It was a very sophisticated and technologically advanced attack.
It got some respect in the Pentagon and Brussels.
Assuredly.
Agreed, you can’t believe anything reported by either party or our media
Russia ran out of missiles in April 2022.
The KH-55 is a Soviet design that came out in 1983.
They undoubtedly have old stock around and you can bet we do too.
But I heard the cluster munitions would end the war
Because the Russians are shooting them from behind their own lines, well behind, and out of range of Ukrainian SAM reach. But you knew that, right?
The question of who did it remains unanswered, though speculations have been rampant. Recently retired four-star General Stanley A. McChrystal added fuel to the fire with his explosive comments suggesting that the United States could have been behind the attack during a secretly recorded conversation obtained by Valuetainment Media.
During this covertly recorded discussion, he seemed to imply that it wasn’t Russia or Ukraine who were responsible for this attack but rather other global natural gas producers –the United States being chief among them– who benefitted from it.

US. ALCM.
It’s early. The DPICM 155mm stuff is meant to cover shortages of HE 155mm.

And then they played a round of golf and got 16 holes in one! This beat Kim Jong Il’s old record by one stroke!
“It was a very sophisticated and technologically advanced attack.”

Those 36 missiles were most probably targeting civilian infrastructure - according to the many previous standard attacks Russia has done.
Those targets are large and big enough to be hit for Russian-Iranian technology.
And it has the goal trying to demoralize regular civilians. The Kremlin has always been a master in terrorizing the weakest. It’s a strategy which can be efficient at times, but doesn’t work against the Ukrainian psych - because they are defending a just cause : Freedom, Family and Nation.

Abject ignorance and abject stupidity.
Go take that disinformation elsewhere. You don’t belong here.
The Ghost of Kiev strikes again.
The Ukes have already lost this war. Only thing to be decided is exactly what territory is ceded to Russia and how much stupid america is willing to pay for the privilege of directing this fiasco. I wish Americans would stop falling for this forever war neocon grift. But alas… ya’all being played!
