Study finds climate change fingerprints on July heat waves in Europe, China and America

The fingerprints of climate change are all over the intense heat waves gripping the globe this month, a new study finds. Researchers say the deadly hot spells in the American Southwest and Southern Europe could not have happened without the continuing buildup of warming gases in the air.

Several climate scientists, using tree rings and other stand-ins for temperature records, say this month’s heat is likely the hottest Earth has been in about 120,000 years, easily the hottest of human civilization.

“Had there been no climate change, such an event would almost never have occurred,” said study lead author Mariam Zachariah, a climate scientist at Imperial College of London.

The way scientists do these rapid analyses is by comparing observations of current weather in the three regions to repeated computer simulations of “a world that might have been without climate change,” said study co-author Izidine Pinto, a climate scientist at the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute.

With heat waves, “the most important thing is that they kill people and they particularly kill and hurt and destroy lives and livelihoods of those most vulnerable.”

Title should read, “Study finds what it was funded to find.”

Aren’t they conflating climate and weather?

Now, if they take remove the false narrative due to measuring surface temperature instead of air temperature as is the norm in every climate model, they will find something called “Summer.”

Their BS has got to stop.

That’s funny. I never imagined that climate could have “fingerprints”. Why knew?

These globull warming idiots are so stupid...

they don’t know they’re stupid.

Looks like they’re going to need a bigger government grant.

That darned Ice Age! If it hadn't ended, we wouldn't be having these high temperatures!

To be fair, the kooks see climate change fingerprints on everything. Hochul even equates arson fires to climate change.

The fingerprints are on the reporting of this. As soon as we get a “heat wave” (ever hear of that?) they start screaming it is OUR FAULT for driving our cars. This is BS, always has been BS and always will be BS!

You can’t deny it is likely the hottest month in at least 12 months. The scientist just rounded the 12 months up to 120,000 years.

Climate changes....duh...has since the beginning of time.

NO ONE has proven that co2 is the problem.

What should the temperature of the earth be at any point in time/

Ans.: Whatever it is. There is no other possible answer.

Climate change was wearing gloves in previous heat waves?

Early on when Mann and the CRU were basing so much of their temperature arguments on tree ring growth. There were papers out not questioning the use of tree rings but questioning the accuracy that Mann and company were claiming. These papers were saying all you could get at best were very gross trends. These papers were conveniently ignored and still are.
