The Justice Department on Monday sued Texas Gov. Greg Abbott over a newly installed floating barrier on the Rio Grande that is the Republican’s latest aggressive tactic to try to stop migrants from crossing into the U.S. from Mexico.
The lawsuit asks a federal judge in Austin to force Texas to remove a roughly 1,000-foot (305-meter) line of bright orange, wrecking ball-sized buoys that the Biden administration says raises humanitarian and environmental concerns. The suit claims that Texas unlawfully installed the barrier without permission between the border cities of Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras, Mexico.
The buoys are the latest escalation of Texas’ border security operation that also includes razor-wire fencing, arresting migrants on trespassing charges and sending busloads of asylum-seekers to Democratic-led cities in other states. Critics have long questioned the effectiveness of the two-year operation, known as Operation Lone Star. Texas needs to sue the Pedophile President for failing to defend the Texas border against foreign invasion. FJB needs to be impeached. NOW!
It should be noted that most of the migrants now come though border checkpoints, where they are processed and sent North to wait 10 years, or more, for their immigration hearing.
The ones that are going between checkpoints have a reason to be taking that huge risk, and it’s almost always the case that they manage to meet one or more of the few categories of people who are still immediately deported, such as violent felons (non-violent felons are fine to come here, at this point).
So Texas is doing what they can, not to control immigration, but to try to stop the very, very, worst of those coming here.
Texas should sue the biden administration for NOT putting up a barrier and causing migrants to drown when they tried crossing!
all of the states in the US should be suing the Jobama administration for not defending this country against the illegal immigrant invasion, in fact for encouraging and enabling it!
That’s like telling a Knight protecting the King’s castle that he has to leave the draw-bridge down, or fill in the moat, so his enemy can have unhindered access.
It must be working or they wouldn’t be suing.
