Texas Gov. Greg Abbott bluntly told President Biden in a letter Monday he's not backing away from his aggressive border security efforts despite the U.S. Justice Department's threat last week to sue on grounds that the state is usurping federal authority.
"You must fully enforce the laws of the United States that prohibit illegal immigration between ports of entry," the Republican governor told the Democratic president. "In the meantime, Texas will fully utilize its constitutional authority to deal with the crisis you have caused. Texas will see you in court, Mr. President.”

I’m not a fan of Abbott’s but he deserves a well done on this issue. He’s late to the party but at least he finally showed up. Well done Governor.

I highly doubt it in this case or he wouldn't be putting up those Rio Grande barriers, nor the razor wire, nor assigning the Texas Public Services and Texas National Guard to detain the illegals. I read where those two efforts have detained some 350,000 illegals since he started Operation Lone Star. My question is Texas deporting them or what?
Yes, I expect the USSC to come down on Texas like they did Arizona years back because immigration is a Federal duty. IIRC, Texas and other States are suing the Biteme administration for not enforcing federal law regarding the borders as was directed by Congress years back. We'll see what happens.
Congress passed a law requiring a wall to be built years ago (can't remember the president that signed it) ,but never funded it until Trump came along. Trump also had an agreement with the Mexico president to keep the caravans in your country or watch our trade incentives disappear overnight.
