Climate activist Greta Thunberg has been found guilty by a Swedish court of disobeying a police order at a protest in Malmo last month.
The 20-year-old avoided a potential prison sentence and has been fined 2,500 Swedish krona (€216), AFP reports.
Greta had pleaded not guilty and told the court: "My actions are justifiable," according to the Sydsvenskan newspaper.
"We are definitely not going to back down because of this,” she told reporters after the verdict.
“We don't have any laws that long term protect us against the self-destructing greed that we have let [have] full control over the world. The laws have to be changed. We know that we cannot save the world by playing by the rules because the rules have to be changed."

But that would be cruel and unusual punishment for the other inmates
Those that sound the alarm on any crisis and want government to forcibly compel people to pay taxes, accept regulations or to take action are not to be believed and should never hold any position of power. These people are enemies of freedom and never present solutions to real problems that work.
Now that she has a rap sheet she’s ready for public office

She now has a criminal record. I guess the next encounter with the police should be with a taser.
Swedish prison is a spa anyway. I hope she gets convicted in some other country.
They should have given her community service work, helping seniors or families who don’t have power or A/C or Heat.
When she pulls her next stunt in some country that is a bit unfriendly then they can refer to her previous conviction in their own sentencing.
A funny thing happened a few years ago. American traitor Bradley Manning (who cut his dick off in prison and calls himself Chelsea Manning now) got his sentence commuted by Obama, but that meant he is still a felon.
He wanted to go to Canada, but the Canadian border guard didn’t let him in saying they don’t want dangerous felons like him in Canada.
If they ever get their way we are screwed because it will be their Law and no fines it will be Gulags or Dead
