Crimean Bridge is a Ukrainian target which should be neutralised – Zelenskyy
Ukrayinska Pravda via Yahoo ^ | July 22nd, 2023 | Unattributed

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that the Crimean Bridge is a legitimate target for Ukraine because Russian invaders use it to transport weapons. This target should be neutralised, the president has said.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "The objective is to reclaim the whole of Crimea because it is our sovereign territory... The Crimean Bridge is not just a logistical road. This is the route used to feed the war with ammunition … and it militarises the Crimean peninsula.

For us, this is understandably an enemy facility, built outside the law, outside international laws and all applicable laws, so understandably this is our objective, and any objective any target that carries war, not peace, has to be neutralised."

Nobody doubts they will take it out as soon as they can.

But I'd be surprised if it's done with surface drones again.

They need 2,000lb class warheads with a 300 mile range. Somebody will eventually give it to them.

When Khrushchev gave Crimea and its 75% Russian population to Ukraine in 1954 it was pretty much a political stunt to consolidate power. It’s not like he was granting independence or political sovereignty to anyone. For 300 years it was Russian, it has a majority Russian population and Russia has 100 megatons of throw weight. Many here will now argue that Khrushchev was a great nation builder and we should leave his work untouched. I say no, it’s Russian.

Why doesn’t Zelenskyy just BAN the bridge like he did those 11 opposition parties and decreed “no elections until ‘war’ is over?”

Russia hasn’t yet acted on the promised retaliation for the latest attack on the bridge. The devastation of the Odesa port area is not part of it.

Continued attacks on the bridge, Putin’s pride and joy, will just escalate the attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, which has largely been spared. Airports, rail stations, water treatment plants, etc. will increasingly come under attack.

It can’t be stressed enough that all of this destruction is being visited on Ukrainian territory. Virtually every round, bomb, missile, shell, etc. is destroying Ukrainian/Russian targets on Ukrainian soil. What will be left of Ukraine after the fighting stops?

We had to destroy Ukraine in order to save it.

Well, yes. That bridge should be destroyed. Russia started this war. Russia is the country that crossed a sovereign border, and started killing innocents. That bridge is a legitimate military target. The sooner it goes, the better.

Well, no. Crimea was Russian for centuries, until Khrushchev gave it to Ukraine on a whim back in 1954. Talking about returning Crimea to Ukraine is as nonsensical as talking about returning Maryland to the UK. It’s not gonna happen, ever.

Ukraine is a stillbirth death of the Soviet era collapse, which we have been witnessing since 1991. The poorest, most corrupt nation in Europe, since its separation from Russia.

They’ve been trying. It’s just that the failures don’t get mentioned.

The poorest, most corrupt nation in Europe, since its separation from Russia.

Yet rich enough to cough up 5 million each to The Tater and The Humper, and provide 80 grand a month to the Humper [not as smart as Zlochevsky’s dog].

If the Russians in Crimea were smart they’d side with Ukraine. Ukraine wants to be a part of the west.

That was not Ukraine, the nation, making the payoffs, but Burisima, which is in fact a multinational corporation. And one that is connected to Moscow besides.

Russia was ( still is) an empire.
The European empires started breaking up in 1918.

” Ukrainian infrastructure, which has largely been spared. “

Not for lack of trying. Hundreds of cruise missiles have been expended vs Ukraines electric infrastructure.

And then there are dams. And airports have also been hit a lot already. Rail stations are a bad target.

Infrastructure is remarkably quick to repair. As long as the people survive, stuff can be fixed. Thats universally true in all modern wars.

That’s because you’re a stupid emoter.

Strange, I never visualize other men masturbating.
