A plant-based diet yields one-fourth as much heat-trapping gas as a diet rich in meat, according to an exhaustive new analysis.
For the study, researchers analyzed the eating habits of more than 55,000 Britons, drawing on data from more than 38,000 farms in 119 countries to gauge the environmental impact of their diets.
The analysis found that plant-based diets produce 75 percent less heat-trapping gas, generate 75 percent less water pollution, and use 75 percent less land than meat-rich diets — those that include at least 100 grams of meat daily, the equivalent of one steak around the size of a deck of cards.
“Our dietary choices have a big impact on the planet,” Peter Scarborough, a researcher at Oxford University and lead author of the study, said in a statement. “Cutting down the amount of meat and dairy in your diet can make a big difference to your dietary footprint.”

Fags do die younger.
Not buying it.
I just don’t believe it.
Anyone can do a *study* proving anything they want. You just ignore all the ones that don’t support your predetermined conclusion and publish the one that does.

There are many many many many many more meat eaters than vegans so meat eaters WIN
no kidding. didn’t need a study to know if a person grows food and eats it, that’s a lot less to grow to feed animals or pasture land to feed animals that they at some point would then be harvested to eat too.
I had lamb for lunch…same as yesterday.
Who cares? I just ate some BBQ ribs and don’t feel guilty in the slightest. Planning on eating some more later. Vegans and climate wackos can go suck on (but not eat) some fish heads.
That's CO2. Which is what plants require. And therefore drives the food production for vegans. Why don't we all just eat what we want to eat? Seems like a natural system of equilibrium.

I wonder if they took into account the methane created by an all vegetable diet.

Not one of these researchers or politicians is going to give up meat.
I’ll believe them when they commit to clearing off the Serengeti of the vast herds of animals.
Lab Grown Meat from cancer cells and you know where that will lead
Believe the science.
Climate change is nothing but a scam.
I feel so bad I may have to eat a steak later to make me feel better.
Actually l don’t care one bit whether it’s true or not. Let the woke a-holes eat bugs and crab grass while we enjoy a good steak
