Ukraine will consider all ships heading to Russian ports in the Black Sea, as well as to ports in the temporarily occupied territories, as "carrying military cargo with all the relevant risks", according to a defense ministry warning issued on July 20.
"From 12 a.m. on July 21, 2023, all vessels sailing in the Black Sea in the direction of the seaports of the Russian Federation and Ukrainian seaports located in the territory of Ukraine temporarily occupied by Russia may be considered by Ukraine as carrying military cargo with all the relevant risks," the ministry said.
The notice stated that shipping in the areas of the northeastern part of the Black Sea and the Kerch-Yenikal Strait of Ukraine is "prohibited as dangerous" starting from 5 a.m. on July 20, 2023.
Relevant navigational information for sailors has already been published, the ministry's press service added.

Who has the air power to cover the Back Sea?
Can Ukraine provide an air shield for all their coastal batteries?
Exciting times.
Just when you think the Ukies couldn’t get any more stupid...
They are being told to do this.
I think they’ll be using maritime drones rather than coastal batteries for this kind of thing.
Russia needs to annex that entire Black Sea Coast, and link up to Transnistra.
It’s Ukraine’s response to Russia threatening the same thing. No one’s surprised. Uke’s just making it official.
Will those British Storm shadow cruise missiles help here?
Or can we get them some obsolete Exocets from the French?
Those should still sink Russian ships effectively with great loss of life and the expensive vessel too!
Maybe a Turkish vessel will get blown up.
Can NATO enter the war against Russia if Ukraine kills Turks?
It’s as logical as perpetuating the war.

Air power not needed in this instance.
Things could go very bad very quickly.
Oil tankers. Russia goes after UKR exports, UKR goes after Russia’s exports.

Harpoons, they already have ... worked well on the Moskva.
Is this anything new? If Ukraine could have hit Russian ships, it already would have done so.
That’s not eco friendly. Greta would be pissed. How dare you!?!
Yep. good for the goose, good for the gander...
True.
The problem here is that the Ukraine doesn't have the reconnaissance capability to carry out this threat.
The US does - and has been providing the Ukraine this intelligence data in real-time for their various drone assaults on Crimea.
Everyone knows this.
Sinking Russian shipping with this kind of intelligence puts the US planes in the front lines with the Ukie military.
Of course, the neocon Swamp rats in DC know this is another escalation of the sneaky, sleazy sort they love.
It's all fun and games until one of ours gets swatted out of the sky...
Your opinion noted, basement Vlad.
Feel free to ask the Turks, Bulgarians, and Romanians what they think of that plan
As is the usual way, the neocon Swamp rats are playing with matches.
Indeed they do.
see my post #17.
