Ukraine Should Do More to Combat Human Trafficking
Atlantic Council ^ | 1/12/16 | Luke A. Drabyn

Posted on 07/20/2023 6:04:41 AM PDT by JonPreston

Ukraine remains one of Europe’s most notorious sources of human trafficking. Since 1991, over 160,000 men, women, and children have been exploited for labor, sex, forced begging, and organ removal, according to a mid-2015 report from the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

Ukraine’s Ministry of Social Policy, with recommendations from domestic and international nongovernmental organizations, is currently in the final stages of updating the country’s five-year action plan on combating human trafficking.

You did this yesterday, you posted an article from 2009 to stir freepers up and today it is an article from January 2016.

This is troll stuff.

In yesterday’s article from 2009 both Russia and Ukraine were tier 2 countries in human Trafficking, by 2013 Russia had slipped to being a tier 3 country in trafficking.

2016 Trafficking in Persons Report - UKRAINE: Tier 2 Watch List

2016 Trafficking in Persons Report - RUSSIA: Tier 3

“”Tier 3: not fully compliant and not making “significant efforts” to be compliant with the minimum standards.*””

The fruits of lawlessness. Globohomo and neocons spread chaos and lawlessness wherever they can, whether in Ukraine, or American cities.

It should be noted that this report came out AFTER the Neocons overthrew the elected government in Ukraine, so we can thank the Neocons for what Ukraine was doing (and quite possibly is still doing).

On the other hand, the Globalists have to get their replacement organs and their ‘cuties’ to ‘play’ with from somewhere, and it seems Ukraine was happy to help.

Glad I don’t support that bunch.

Yep.

Our bombing of Libya caused a 12 year civil war, and slave auctions.
They used to be on YouTube. I would guess they removed the videos.

“”””LOL...I think Ukraine has more pressing matters at the moment.””””

The article in the OP is from January 2016 about a 2015 report that says just that.

While in 2015/16 Ukraine was still holding onto a tier 2 rating in spite of Russia, Russia itself had long lost the 2009 tier 2 rating and was a tier 3 trafficking nation.

From the OP source.
“Since 1991, over 160,000 men, women, and children have been exploited for labor, sex, forced begging, and organ removal, according to a mid-2015 report from the International Organization for Migration (IOM).”
“However, recent challenges—like Russia’s continued aggression in eastern Ukraine and the country’s 1.5 million internally displaced persons (IDPs)—have diverted the government’s attention and resources from meaningful anti-trafficking collaboration.”

Ukraine is doing a lot to stop human trafficking. Right now the Ukrainian government is working tirelessly to recover the more than ten thousand Ukrainian children kidnapped and trafficked by the Russian military.

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn’t catch it and the original poster, JonPreston, didn’t point it out for us. Now it makes a lot more sense.

Some 80,000 children coming across the southern US border are unaccounted for.

More than 16,000 Ukrainian children were kidnapped by the Russian government. The Ukrainian government is doing everything they can to get the children back to their parents.

“”””Please address the issues raised in the article””””

Just like yesterday you posted a historical article, many years outdated.

Even back then Ukraine was much less a human trafficking problem than Russia’s tier 3 to Ukraine’s tier 2, and Russia hasn’t improved since either of the old articles you have posted.

Russia is currently a tier 3 country in human Trafficking and the 6th worse in the world.

Good point. Human trafficking seems to be interwoven into Neocon politics, especially in regards to Ukraine

Yesterday he posted a 2009 article in an effort to troll FR.

Russia is at the bottom of human trafficking and among the very worst while Ukraine is in the middle of the 3 categories.

Quit trolling Freepers with ancient articles on trafficking to cover for Russia and their being among the very worst nations on earth for trafficking, while Ukraine isn’t even close to that.

Don’t think Ukraine is worried about trafficing...they are loosing the war, but media won’t report it.

Where Russia has 900,000 active personnel in its armed forces, and 2 million in reserve, Ukraine has 196,000 and 900,000 reservists. Ukraine on Wednesday began conscripting reservists aged 18-60, according to IISS.

In land forces alone, Russia has a twofold advantage, with 280,000 troops to Ukraine’s 125,600. And its air force is nearly five times as strong, with 165,00 to Ukraine’s 35,000.
