Phoenix is slated to break its heat record as the city approaches its 19th consecutive day of hitting 110 degrees or hotter in the area.
Phoenix tied the record for the most consecutive days with a high temperature of 110 degrees or more on Monday at 18 days, which ties it with the record previously set in 1974, the Phoenix National Weather Service (NWS) said.
Phoenix also broke its record for the highest overnight low temperature ever on Monday with a low of 95 degrees, which surpassed the 2009 record of 93 degrees. It was the eighth consecutive day of overnight lows being above 90 degrees, which was another record for the area.

The devil wanted a place on earth
Sort of a summer home
A place to spend his vacation
Whenever he wanted to roam.
So he picked out Arizona
A place both wretched and rough
Where the climate was to his liking
And the cowboys hardened and tough.
He dried up the streams in the canyons
And ordered no rain to fall
He dried up the lakes in the valleys
Then baked and scorched it all.
Then over his barren country
He transplanted shrubs from hell.
The cactus, thistle and prickly pear
The climate suited them well.
Now the home was much to his liking
But animal life, he had none.
So he created crawling creatures
That all mankind would shun.
First he made the rattlesnake
With it’s forked poisonous tongue.
Taught it to strike and rattle
And how to swallow it’s young.
Then he made scorpions and lizards
And the ugly old horned toad.
He placed spiders of every description
Under rocks by the side of the road.
Then he ordered the sun to shine hotter,
Hotter and hotter still.
Until even the cactus wilted
And the old horned lizard took ill.
Then he gazed on his earthly kingdom
As any creator would
He chuckled a little up his sleeve
And admitted that it was good.
Twas summer now and Satan lay
By a prickly pear to rest.
The sweat rolled off his swarthy brow
So he took off his coat and vest.
“By Golly, ” he finally panted,
“I did my job too well,
I’m going back to where I came from,
Arizona is hotter than Hell. “
The deep state is trying to convince us that globull warming is real. Everyday we are hearing about how hot it is. Well, it’s summer, DUH.
Over the past decades, temperatures in the area around Phoenix have been affected by population growth and agricultural irrigation. Air with higher humidity retains more heat, hence the overnight records. In the desert, away from farms, pools, lawns, etc., nights become chilly. Even after a scorching Summer day.
Yep. And Phoenix has VASTLY more concrete and asphalt in 2023 than in 1974! It was tiny in the mid-70s compared to now - 1 million people versus 4.7 million!
Population is about 5 times greater now than in 74.
My grandparents lived in Scottsdale for years. In the early 60’s, it would cool down at night. Not anymore.
When one agenda fails try another we will obtain control one way or another.
“I thought the 70s was the ice age?”
**************
Rest assured the ice age meme will eventually be resurrected at some point in the future — when liberals need a fear issue to drive their political agenda.
LOL, that damned dry heat!
Fossil fuels are not in my equation because their use does not produce "heat" per se.
Every street should be treelined with trees that will produce a canopy.
We see interstate highways...not a tree in site.
Right. Fake ‘records’ made possible through data mining. Meaningless in themselves.
Fun in Texas as well...
It was called The Heat Wave of 1980

They ignore that it was hot in the past and that it’s SUMMER
I use those little Umbrellas...
Margaritas stay cooler!
.
Ha!

Cold Winter and Hot Summer.
.
Stop the Press!!!
All hype. I played 9 holes here in 45 minutes , empty courses, cheaper rates
MORE HEAT, MORE HEAT !
And not a word about how cool it was in May and June, 30 of the 60 days then were lower than normal some by 10 degrees.
