Kari Lake Files New Election Appeal To The Arizona Supreme Court

Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake filed an appeal to the Arizona Supreme Court in her election case as she claimed that 8,000 unreadable ballots were not configured properly during last year’s midterms.

In an appeal filed (pdf) with the state’s highest court, Ms. Lake alleged that the 8,000 ballots were either “duplicated or counted.” What’s more, they were also unreadable, her team contended.

“The ballot-on-demand printer investigation report by former Chief Justice McGregor (‘the McGregor Report’) found that ‘four printers randomly printed one or a few ‘fit to page’ ballots in the middle of printing a batch of ballots … [n]one of the technical people with whom we spoke could explain how or why that error occurred,'” said the appeal.

An expert for Mrs. Lake, a former Fox affiliate anchor, had “testified this ‘error’ could only result from malware or remote access and resulted in at least 8,000 misconfigured ballots, the vast majority of which were neither duplicated nor counted,” it added.

The defendants in the case, including Maricopa County officials and the Arizona secretary of state’s office, have not issued a public response or filing in the case.

Courts Have Little Appetite

While a number of her legal challenges have been rejected by state courts, Ms. Lake has said she would take her lawsuit to the U.S. Supreme Court if needed, although the top court has shown little appetite to take up election challenges since late 2020.

“This is, I believe, our best hope to get reform in our elections: my case,” she said in a recent interview. “I believe it’s the greatest election case. We have the truth on our side. We have tons of evidence. Yes, we haven’t had a judge rule in our favor. But it takes a lot of courage to make the right ruling on this case.”

Ms. Lake has never conceded the race to Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs, who was sworn into office earlier this year. At the same time, Ms. Lake has signaled in media interviews that she may be exploring a run for the U.S. Senate seat that is currently held by former Democratic Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) in what could be a three-way race between Ms. Lake, Ms. Sinema, and Rep. Reuben Gallego (D-Ariz.).

Her challenge comes as another court, in a separate, case ordered Ms. Lake’s and former Secretary of State candidate Mark Finchem’s teams to pay $122,200 in sanctions. U.S. District Judge John Tuchi in Phoenix wrote that former Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz also has to pay about 10 percent of that fine because, according to Mr. Tuchi, Mr. Dershowitz signed off on a number of legal documents in the case.

“Failing to impose meaningful sanctions here might very well encourage others to follow suit by lending their credibility to documents filed in court without facing any real consequence if their certifications prove hollow or incomplete,” Mr. Tuchi wrote in his ruling. “The need for general deterrence is therefore significant.”

Mr. Dershowitz indicated to the Arizona Republic that he would appeal the order.

Ms. Lake and Mr. Finchem sued former Arizona Secretary of State Ms. Hobbs and officials in Maricopa and Pima counties in April 2022, in a bid to change the state and counties’ voting procedures. Mr. Tuchi dismissed the lawsuit in August. The Maricopa County officials named as defendants sought sanctions against Ms. Lake for trying to sow doubts about the then-upcoming 2022 elections.

Defamation Lawsuit

It comes also as Stephen Richer, the Maricopa County recorder, filed a defamation lawsuit at the end of June against Ms. Lake, saying that he’s faced “violent vitriol and other dire consequences” because of “lies” spread by her, including death threats and the loss of friendships.

If I’m operating in “Fool’s Paradise”, where exactly are you operating considering you’ve not offered a single alternative to the current system, other than keep filing legal challenges that have all failed in the past.

The problem with your response, it offers ZERO alternatives to the current system, except to complain about and offer up excuses.

George Soros, voting machines are hacked, Democrats cheated, blah, blah, blah, it’s no wonder Republicans lose a lot of very winnable elections.

They may not overturn the election on a technicality or look at it out of political consideration, although the SCOTUS is not what it was in 2020 either. What she does accomplish by going this route and especially in the signature verification trial that was just held is getting the facts of her side out to the public. If Maricopa County had an iota of evidence that supported a Katie Hobbs win they wouldn’t be denying public records and FOIA requests. And the courts are put in a position of defending cowardice and lawlessness. It could also be a big talking point for Trump and certainly isn’t keeping anyone from running for office.

At some point, you have to accept Katie Hobbs is Governor and nothing is going to change that until the next election for Governor in Arizona.

Kari Lake could have all the evidence in the world of the cheating that took place in Maricopa County and around Arizona, if the courts keep ruling against her, the majority of the voting public will conclude she’s a fringe election denying candidate and she will never win in Arizona.

She has a real chance to defeat Kyrsten Sinema in 2024, if the campaign becomes about election issues she will lose, it needs to be about the border, economic issues, the war in Ukraine, etc...issues the majority of the voting public cares about not election issues where the courts have consistently ruled against her.

It isn’t her fault, the “Judges” have been given their orders by the #JihadJunta.

Pretty doubtful that he ever said this. And how would it even apply to Kari's situation?

Comparing Kari to Einstein in any way, shape or form is an absurdity.

I think Sinema will defeat her handily.

You’re right it’s not her fault, but is not smart to keep fighting in the court system, a place where you’ve never won a single case.

It should be obvious to everyone the courts are saying they are not going to get involved in election issues in Arizona or elsewhere for that matter.

If there is any chance to turn the situation around, it would be to come up with a different approach.

I think Sinema will win easily as well, especially if Kari Lake is the Republican candidate and makes election reform a central part of her strategy.

The Democrats and Sinema will spend their media budget painting Kari Lake as a election denying right wing conspiracy theory nut, who is ignoring the concerns of the average voter.

The more time that is spent on election integrity, the worse it will be for every Republican including Kari Lake.

The Revolutionary War took seven years, and we were fighting an enemy that engaged in symmetrical warfare.

We aren’t that lucky this time around, are we.

Deep State is patient.

They’re waiting us out.

Let’s not oblige, eh?

We’re no longer a republic because there is no election integrity.

We won’t restore the republic without it.

If you read post # 12, the comparison was made between Kari Lake and Einstein relating to their tenacity at learning, constantly refining their learning experiences and forever growing.

I studied Einstein in detail, especially his early years. Much of Einstein’s original work was based upon the work of others. He was a mediocre student at best, his girlfriend doing much of the math for him.

He was hitting rock bottom in 1904-1905 as he got his girlfriend pregnant out of wedlock, and if the Swiss Patent Office found out, he would have lost the only job he could get. Thus she went away to live with her parents and Einstein never did get to see his daughter.

It was during the depths of despair and emptiness that his best work flowed through him.

I would doubt Einstein said this quote as his ego was too big and too fragile to admit this truth about his work, but he had tenacity and perseverance.

So the way you disqualify votes in predominately Republican districts is to print the ballots the wrong size on a page and then run them through the tabulators which will reject them so that democraps can count them manually.

This is soooooo solvable, and election officials involved in this fraud need to be jailed.

Never won a single case ? Arizona Courts are the problem, not Kari Lake. The judge that ruled in the Abraham Hamadeh case couldn’t even name the correct office for the ruling, Secy of State or AG ? He also failed to sign it as required by Arizona Supreme Court rules which makes the decision unappeable, for now. Kangaroo Courts in the Banana Republic of Arizona.

In the initial December trial that Thompson presided over, and in a February appeal, both courts shot down all of Lake’s claims in her election challenge, ruling they were either improper to bring before the court in such a case or that they were not backed by the facts. The Arizona Supreme Court in March dismissed all of Lake’s claims except for one, regarding signature verification processes, which it sent back to Thompson for review, saying that the judge had improperly dismissed it.
The two-day trial that begins on Wednesday will focus solely on Lake’s allegation that Maricopa County failed to comply with state law and election procedures by not performing any higher-level signature reviews for early ballots that were flagged by low-level signature verifiers as having inconsistent signatures and instead just allowed all of those ballots to be counted.

It might be time to use a different strategy since what you are doing isn’t working

You have a suggestion as to what to do when all the important public officials in Arizona are controlled by the Mexican Drug cartel as that witness testified to the Arizona Senate?

So you take her losses in a corrupt system to be caused by her not using the right strategy?

So what sort of strategy should you use when dealing with a rigged system?

Never met an anti-Einstein before. And if you doubt that he said the quote...why did you say he did. You contradict yourself in so many ways.

Kari Lake is what she is...a media rep trying to get into politics on the back of Donald Trump.

All her tries have been thru the courts where she’s lost every time,

You must think you are talking to people who respect the courts instead of regarding them as liars and idiots.

*I* hate the courts. I consider them totally incompetent when they are not just outright lying their @$$es off about the law, evidence and the truth.

The courts are utter garbage, and they should be revamped to get honest intelligent people in them instead of continuing to tolerate the absolute corrupt and or idiots we have now.

The courts are a clown show. If you respect the courts, you simply do not understand how they operate and what ridiculous decisions they have made and continue to make.

The "courts" think a man is a woman. They should engender no respect because they are just liars and incompetents.

The only way to clean it up is to actually win elections first and then attempt to change the laws

This is as sensible as saying "The Slaves should first free themselves, and then attempt to change the laws keeping them in bondage."

You have a real difficulty understanding cause and effect I think.

I’ve done that already multiple times in this same discussion thread; I’m not going to keep repeating it, so you don’t have to go back through my responses and learn for yourself.

Since the Arizona Court System has rejected every one of her legal challenges, what is your strategy or do you even have one other than to complain about it.
