Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday pushed back against Gov. Chris Christie’s strategy of launching attacks at former President Donald Trump — and discussed plans to ratchet up his mainstream media exposure in the crowded 2024 GOP field.
DeSantis, in an interview on Fox News’s “MediaBuzz,” was asked to respond to Christie’s claims that he is the only Republican presidential candidate to go toe-to-toe with Trump, 77, because the others are to afraid of offending the front-runner or his supporters.
“I don’t do insults so that is true,” DeSantis said. “I think just getting in this insult game turns voters off. That’s something I won’t do.”
DeSantis underscored that he and his campaign have been “very frank at our differences with respect to the former president.”
On the campaign trail, the Sunshine State governor has honed in on what he views as Trump’s failures to deliver conservative policy victories, such as the border wall. He’s also portrayed himself as a better manager.

Yeah, me too. Along with the booming economy he brought, low black unemployment, energy independence, building the border wall and the respect of the world leaders.
But the insults are just too much. Grrrrr.
Oh yes he does. He hires people to make himself look good.
Nothing helps because people can see right through him.
My treachery takes a different form
DeSantis doesn’t do name-calling. He just outright stabs you in the back.
Look under the Presidential primary or caucus column:
https://www.ncsl.org/elections-and-campaigns/2024-state-primary-election-dates
Florida March 19th, 2024
many states are March 5th
Michigan is February 27th
Nevada and New York are February 6th
South Carolina has scheduled the Democratic primary for the 3rd of February and the Republican primary for the 24th
desantis insults his state regularly by actions and inactions. And yes he has said insulting things about trump too, as we know Ron is a liar.
I think it's in his DNA, estranging those who could be at least arm's-distance allies.
Trump could easily win the nom, he has not a tiny chance of the general election.
His unprofessional demeanor, his dissolute appearance, his long, long list of indies and GOPers who were okay with some of his accomplishments, but not enough to bear 4 more years of cringing at his every appearance.
Once/if Trump wins the nom, the Dems will be non-stop with oppo ads about porn star hush money, misuse of classified information, and other bites which are persuasive to low info voters (who don't know or care about inflation, border security, Ukraine, etc). The election will not be close.
This Veteran also likes DeSantis. I hope RDS sticks with it to the last.
Rupert Murdoch, 92, and his NY Post in recent months have had a new style rule for their editors and writers. Always put Trump's, age after his name in every article.
So, you'll see "Trump, 77", over and over again
Yup, that's Rupert Murdoch, 92, and his rag, The NY Post, 222.
“DeSantis rejects Chris Christie’s attack-dog approach to Trump: ‘I don’t do insults’”
A bit of life from DeSantis (finally), but then again, we all know that terminal patients often seem to recover...just before passing away.
Have DeSantis and Chris Christie been telling the truth about Joe Biden?
.
Christie’s not running for office.
He’s got a wink-wink agreement to be rewarded by ABC for attacking Trump.
No idea. I don't listen to either.
Trump and his lowbrow insults and name-calling are big turn offs for me.
.......
Yeah, me too. Along with the booming economy he brought, low black unemployment, energy independence, building the border wall and the respect of the world leaders.

Like you, I’d vote for Trump despite his personality problems. Unfortunately, there are others who lean toward Trump on the issues but will vote against his personality. People who have been called names. Women who have been called ugly. The list is long.
That’s why I’m supporting Vivek. He has all the right policy positions without the juvenile demeanor.
Boo Hoo
That’s why the media has been going after DeSantis - they know he’s the bigger threat in the general election. Trump is probably unelectable.
My Dem friends, and I do have some, all fear Governor DeSantis more than Trump in the general election.
(And none of them care for Biden, who I suspect strongly won't even be running as the election draws closer.)
