Trump to DeSantis: Come Home to Florida and Do Your Job
Breitbart ^ | 15 Jul 2023 | JORDAN DIXON-HAMILTON

Posted on 07/16/2023 11:18:32 AM PDT by SoConPubbie

Former President Donald Trump will call on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) to “get back” to Florida and “do the job he was elected to do,” during his keynote address at the Turning Point Action Conference in West Palm Beach, Florida, according to prepared remarks obtained by Breitbart News.

“It is time for Ron DeSanctus to get back here and do the job he was elected to do—be the Governor of FLORIDA,” Trump’s prepared remarks say. “He’s got to get home and take care of business.”

Trump will urge DeSantis to return to Florida to address the home and car insurance crisis affecting the state.

“He’s got to get home and take care of the insurance situation which is the worst in the nation,” Trump will say.

Trump’s remarks come one day after AAA announced it would not renew home and car insurance for some of its policyholders in Florida, joining Farmers Insurance.

“All the money he is using for a hopeless cause, his election, should be used to support the party winning against Crooked Joe Biden in November 2024,” Trump’s remarks continue.

Trump will suggest funds going to the DeSantis campaign should be put towards an operation to address the “Democrats’ cheating and ballot harvesting.”

“Now is the time when Republicans should be using those funds to build a state-of-the-art vote-gathering operation to swamp the Democrats’ cheating and ballot harvesting,” Trump’s remarks say.

"He invited the whole damn country to come to Florida while he disappears."

And he didn't leave a forwarding address, because his changes to the Sunshine Laws says the people who elected him, and the public in general, don't have the right to know where he is at any given time.

"And why does Mister Trump think that we owe the nom to him?"

Because over 83 million people voted for him in 2020, and the election was stolen from him, that's why.

Great post! 1000% correct. I shake my head at the logic of some of our posters.

He does attack Biden pretty much daily. DeSantis entered the ring and he is getting scrutiny he never had.

Okay, fine, my good FRiend.

Assuming that's true, do you think that 83 mil will vote for Trump over, say, Newsom?

For one, the electorate has changed. More fine folks from my vintage have sadly "gone west".

And, there are 4 years of new, younger voters who have little memory of events from 2016-20, and don't require much "info" on for whom to vote.

Many folks, GOPers included, are repelled my Trump's impetuousness, childishness, and steadfast refusal to act in a diplomatic and presidential manor.

As an example, both my DW and I voted for Trump in the last two elections. I'll vote for whichever GOPer secures the nom, quite likely Trump. DW (who never, ever makes idle statements) says she will not vote for Trump again, she's tired of cringing and trying to defend foolish appointments, dismissals, insults, and verbal fights with nobodies.

She represents a significant portion of the vote. There is much less motivation for some to support someone who's earned their scorn.

Importantly, while 83 million sounds like a lot of votes, and it certainly is, some key states can be swung by a few thousand votes, and it's the electoral votes that count.

Trump cannot win the general, and it's mostly on Trump and his conduct.

In a way l see your point. Trump should hit Biden a lot more and DeSantis a lot less.

"Assuming that's true, do you think that 83 mil will vote for Trump over, say, Newsom?"

Yes. Probably more like 93 million for Trump over Gruesome Newsome.

I don't know what vintage you're from, but I was born in 1947, and would never vote for a left-wing commie, or a Rino.

I will vote for Trump for a third time if I'm alive in November 2024. If the GOPe and the swamp keep him off the ballot, I will write him in. I will never compromise my values again, and hold my nose to vote for the lesser of two evils, just to keep a seat in Republican hands. I did it way too many times in the past, and regretted it afterwards. For me, those days are gone. I'd rather sit home, and not vote at all, then vote for a bad candidate I know will only stab me in the back once he's gotten my vote.

I voted for Trump because he fights back, and he's not afraid to speak the truth, the way it should be spoken. That was the main character in his personality that persuaded me to support him in the first place. And I already know that he keeps his campaign promises, even while under constant verbal and legal attacks by the people who are scared to death of him. If you want a pussy in the White House, then vote for a Bush clone. There's plenty of them running. We tried candidates that don't fight back, and roll over for Democrats, and it was that behavior that led us to support Donald Trump. Your arguments about Trump's conduct were all brought forth in 2015 when he first stepped into the political ring, and he won overwhelmingly because of it. It's 8 years later, and you sound like a broken record. Nobody cares, because Trump says what the majority of them have been feeling for years, and wish they could say. And they also remember how much better this country was under his Administration.

I think you overstate the number of people you claim are fed up with Trump. The attendance at his rallies doesn't coincide with your comments, and if people are so fed up with Trump as you claim, then why is he leading with such a high percentage in every poll? Wishing for his demise on the Presidential scene based on your own assumptions, won't make it so.

And lastly, after January 6th, when Congress fully sanctioned unlimited voter fraud in this country, it is highly unlikely that any Republican Presidential candidate, good or bad, will be allowed to receive enough electors to sit in the Oval Office ever again.

Uh, no. Your analysis, such as it is, is severely flawed.

Trump calls it correctly.

Oh, excuse me, you want a president to be diplomatic with the very commies trying to destroy America?

Or do you want a fighter? Someone who calls out evil people strongly? Because if you don’t, Trump is not for you. But it’s a shame you don’t want a savvy businessman who champions conservative values tooth and nail.

My good FRiend, I wish it were different, however elections are won on optics and impressions. Roughly 30 percent will aways vote Dem, 30 percent will vote GOP (me included). and the remainder are where presidents are selected.

Mister Trump so hurts himself with his dissolute appearance, his insults upon insults to GOPers and Indies who don't kiss his ring, and foolish and impetuous statements such as he can end the Ukraine war in 24 hours (he simply cannot, and everyone knows this.)

Oh, excuse me, you want a president to be diplomatic with the very commies trying to destroy America?

Ronald Reagan was a diplomat's diplomat, and he yet remained strong in the face of communism and socialism .

"Stay classy! Or try to. I found your post disgusting."

I had two parents, and they died many years ago. At almost 76, I don't need a surrogate mommy or daddy to tell me what I can and can't say. If you don't like what I wrote, then whine to the mods about it.
