Trump to DeSantis: Come Home to Florida and Do Your Job
Breitbart ^ | 15 Jul 2023 | JORDAN DIXON-HAMILTON

Posted on 07/16/2023 11:18:32 AM PDT by SoConPubbie

Former President Donald Trump will call on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) to “get back” to Florida and “do the job he was elected to do,” during his keynote address at the Turning Point Action Conference in West Palm Beach, Florida, according to prepared remarks obtained by Breitbart News.

“It is time for Ron DeSanctus to get back here and do the job he was elected to do—be the Governor of FLORIDA,” Trump’s prepared remarks say. “He’s got to get home and take care of business.”

Trump will urge DeSantis to return to Florida to address the home and car insurance crisis affecting the state.

“He’s got to get home and take care of the insurance situation which is the worst in the nation,” Trump will say.

Trump’s remarks come one day after AAA announced it would not renew home and car insurance for some of its policyholders in Florida, joining Farmers Insurance.

“All the money he is using for a hopeless cause, his election, should be used to support the party winning against Crooked Joe Biden in November 2024,” Trump’s remarks continue.

Trump will suggest funds going to the DeSantis campaign should be put towards an operation to address the “Democrats’ cheating and ballot harvesting.”

“Now is the time when Republicans should be using those funds to build a state-of-the-art vote-gathering operation to swamp the Democrats’ cheating and ballot harvesting,” Trump’s remarks say.

Trump will also call out DeSantis and his “establishment handlers” for dividing the Republican Party.

“Instead, DeSanctus and his establishment handlers are wasting precious resources to divide our party right when we should be uniting against the unprecedented weaponization of law enforcement by Crooked Joe Biden and the Communist Left,” Trump’s remarks say.

“Never forget—our enemies want to stop us because we are the only ones who can stop THEM. They want to take away MY freedom because I will never let them take away YOUR freedom,” Trump’s prepared remarks add. “They want to silence me, because I will never let them silence you. In the end, they’re not after me, they’re after you—and I’m just standing in their way.”

What BS. This is not fit to post on FR. Every candidate that holds office gets this complaint raised against them. It is so ridiculous, it’s not even a cheap shot. Trump is just trying to remain relevant in the news with BS like this.

This would be no different than DeSantis and others saying that Trump should suspend his campaign and focus is money and attention on his many lawsuits and indictments. Do you want to go there?

So why don't you take a deep breadth and focus on some issues, things that they mirror or contrast? Or maybe you could focus on Biden and Harris?

Or, what about impeachment that Trump's buddies in Congress won't move forward?

Trump trying to ‘remain relevant’?

He’s been the most relevant political figure in the last 8 years and you don’t think he’s relevant enough?

Fact is that, it’s the rest of the pack that needs to make themselves relevant.

“to “get back” to Florida and “do the job he was elected to do,”

It’s good advice and the insurance crises could be an escape hatch for DeSantis. It needs to be addressed NOW so he could and should get back to FLA and be Governor again.

Trump is exactly right. RDS ran last fall promising to serve the people of FLA as Govetnor for 4 years all the while knowing that he was not planning on doing so. Ron immediately upon winning the Governorship again, worked with the State Legislature to change the laws so he could run without giving up his seat. FLA legislature passed the law and Ron turned the state over to the Lt. Gov. Total bait and switch by Ron. What a weasel.

Keep denying that DeSantis manipulated the State Legislature to change the Resign to Run law, the same way Rino Charlie Crist did when he thought he would be McCain's pick for V.P. Rick Scott changed it back to its original form when he became Governor.

DeSantis also got the State Legislature to change parts of the Sunshine Laws so all of his past and future travel records would be kept secret from the public. You can't see past your nose on DeSantis. The guy is a self-serving prig.

Gov. DeSantis made the assumption that he could beat Trump 1.0, but Trump 2.0 blows everyone out of the water.

You have to forgive Reno. He/she/it is in a state of perpetual orgasm just hearing the name DeSantis.

So. Florida wins. They have a successful governor, building a successful state. If they can help their governor get to the White House, that is good for the state. No surprises, just a big yawn.

That’s an idiotic comparison. DeSantis was elected governor of Florida — and is being PAID as governor of Florida.

He’s only been successful because he’s had a large Republican majority in the State Legislature since he was first elected. Even as a Representative in Congress, he never served in a House controlled by Democrats. You seem to think he’s been able to do all the things he has for Florida, all on his own. He didn’t get those things done by himself you know. Take away his Republican majority in both Houses, and he’s nobody.

me and wifey both voted DeSantis with every expectation we would have an R for a governor for the next four instead of an “I was an R before I was an I before I was a D” crist. two votes DeSantis can count on NOT getting if he runs as anything other than FLORIDA governor. big D...do the job you promised Florida voters or suffer the consequences. real and simple.

Trump to DeSantis: Come Home to Florida and Do Your Job

Like the Bump Stock and Red Flag state laws that still remain in place in Florida.

Plus the machine voting, and extended voting that will surely become a problem.

And then there's the home owners insurance rates.

Ron needs to do his job, serve out his full term and address those issues. Republicans in general aren't looking to nominate a Trump alternative in the Republican primary.

My whole family voted for DeSantis for governor of Florida for the next 4 years. That’s 10 votes from my family. We wanted him for the full 4 years, and then would consider him as a presidential candidate for 2028. DeSantis became too greedy and wanted to use his popularity and huge win in Florida as a launching start.

We could not stomach Christ as a former R or as a D or as in I. FACT is that, most voters did not trust Crist. DeSantis’ win in Florida is over-hyped, since, his big win was because of the weak candidate that democrats put forth.

DeSantis should pull out of the presidential race now befoe he become persona-non-grata with voters. He’s damaging his reputation.

As Trump surely knows, the Florida Legislature already met in special session last December to remedy the insurance crisis. https://www.bankrate.com/insurance/homeowners-insurance/florida-homeowners-insurance-crisis/#why

I’m mystified why Trump thinks that his abusive rhetoric will help himself win in 2024. Perhaps, as in the Aesop-like fable of the scorpion and the frog, he just can’t control himself.

This is VERY VERY DIFFERENT.

Trump’s legal problems are the result of a weaponized DOJ

DeSantis’ FL insurance problem is HIS inept governance of HIS state.

Being unjustly attacked and crucified by evil people is a PLUS. It means you’re doing the right stuff to help the American people, and the establishment hates that, so they attack.

Suffering under business problems YOU created is NOT a plus. You made it happen while you were in charge. We’re gonna trust you to run the country when you ran FL into the ground? That’s a legitimate issue to bring up.

Now, I like what DeSantis is doing to defy the woke agenda. But his instincts for what’s good for business SUCK. I’m sorry to be so blunt and harsh, but it’s the truth. Sorry not sorry.
