Pence calls viral clip suggesting he cares more about Ukraine than US ‘fake news’

Former Vice President Mike Pence fired back on social media after an out-of-context video clip of him suggesting he’s more interested in the war in Ukraine than issues plaguing cities across the US went viral on Friday.

In the video, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson questions the 2024 Republican presidential candidate about where his priorities lie after Pence criticizes the length of time it has taken the Biden administration to provide Ukraine with weapons to fend off Russia’s invasion of the former Soviet state.

“You are distressed that the Ukrainians don’t have enough American tanks. Every city in the United States has become much worse over the past three years. Drive around. There’s not one city that’s gotten better in the United States, and it’s visible,” Carlson says during a forum at the Family Leadership Summit in Iowa.

“Our economy has degraded, the suicide rate has jumped, public filth and disorder and crime have exponentially increased, and yet, your concern is that the Ukrainians – a country most people can’t find out a map – who’ve received tens of billions of US tax dollars don’t have enough tanks. I think it’s a fair question to ask, like, where’s the concern for the United States in that?” Carlson asks Pence.

To which Pence responds, “It’s not my concern. Tucker, I’ve heard that routine from you before, but that’s not my concern.”

Exactly. ! If you watch the whole interview, he doesn’t talk about the US cities or problems at home. It’s all just what weapons for Ukraine, and Biden hasn’t sent them fast enough.

Then he gives the GOPe boilerplate that America is Big, and can do both. When the evidence from the last 30 years is that it can do neither.

Exactly. Instead of attempting to either immediately clarify his comments, or doing it soon after it went viral, especially if he thought he was being misquoted, he simply claimed it was "fake news," and he stole that term from Donald Trump, after he stabbed him in the back.

I didn't watch the whole interview, just the one clip, but noticed Pence staring out at whatever audience was there, and failing to even look at the person who was addressing him. It was very weird.

The bottom line is, as one who was in a position to push the pause button on 2020 vote fraud, Pence went ahead and allowed the fraud to be certified. So now we have a certified fraudulent regime in power. Hence the somber-faced Mike Pence can kiss my hairy white and f himself. That is my concern.

I was waiting for someone to mention that, his body language suggested he was very irritated by Carlson. I believe his answer was as much from his irritation as his actual belief. These guys are so used to softball questions (that they never answer).

I only watched the one clip. Pence was very flippant about Tucker's comment about the concerns of the American people versus Ukraine. He actually claimed Tucker's comment was a "routine," and that he'd "heard it before." In essence, when he trivialized Tucker's comment as just more rhetoric, he was showing he had no concern.
