I think he displayed so much contempt for Tucker in that moment that he was blinded by it, and didn’t even comprehend what he said twice. The open distain and refusal to even turn his head that direction, truly bizarre appearing.
But he’ll have plenty of chances to relive that very moment, I mean we still see the Howard Dean clip every election cycle.

I can’t stand Pence, but I actually did feel a bit sorry for him yesterday, because there were two “your concern is”’s in Tucker’s question and I truly believe Pence addressed the wrong one. It was an own goal for sure, but I think he meant to convey something else.
Then my husband reminded me that Pence has been in politics long enough to be able to properly unpack a hostile question, so screw Pence.
Speaking of hostile, I’ve never seen Pence look that angry. Tucker really rattled him.

Yesterday shows why Republicans need to go into hostile territory every once in a while, it makes them much better debaters, Tucker Carlson is mild compared to what the MSM will do to them, if they can’t calmly and forcefully defend their positions they have no business running for president, Pence is the perfect example, just a couple of tough questions and he’s toast, you can’t win a national election by staying in your comfort zone
