William Perry Pendley, a Cheyenne native who served as BLM director under President Trump, said John Kerry showed an "unbelievable level of disconnect" in saying his concern with the war in Ukraine is its CO2 emissions, not terrible loss of life.
William Perry Pendley said he couldn’t believe what he was hearing when U.S. Climate envoy John Kerry said his concern with the war in Ukraine was how it was contributing to climate change.
The Cheyenne native, who served as acting Bureau of Land Management (BLM) director under President Trump and deputy secretary of the Interior under Ronald Reagan, said Kerry’s comments illustrate an “unbelievable level of disconnect.”
“We have this terrible tragedy of this country being destroyed, tens of thousands of people dying on both sides of the battle lines, billions of dollars being expended, and he’s worried about CO2 being released into the atmosphere,” Perry told Cowboy State Daily on Tuesday.
In an appearance on MSNBC on Monday, Kerry said he wasn’t suggesting that the U.S. shouldn’t be involved in the Ukraine War, but he was very concerned about the war’s impact on the climate.
“When you have bombs going off and you have damage to septic tanks or to power centers, you have an enormous release of greenhouse gas, methane, and all of the family of greenhouse gasses, ” Kerry said.
The Perfect Storm
Perry said it reminded him of a similar situation about 20 years ago in Hawaii when he was talking to an environmentalist about the book, “The Perfect Storm.”
They both agreed that Sebastian Junger’s story about the massive and deadly storm that clobbered the northeast U.S. was an outstanding book. They disagreed on what was the most tragic part of the book.
“He said, ‘You know what's the worst thing about what happened in The Perfect Storm?’” Perry recalled.
“I'm thinking 13 people died and the $200 million worth of damage,” Perry responded.
“No, it was about what happened to the fish,” the environmentalist said.
To that, Perry thought to himself, “What planet are you on?” — which is the same reaction he had when he heard Kerry talk about the Ukraine War.
Disconnect Continued
Perry went on to say, in retrospect, that Kerry's response really isn't that surprising, considering he lectures people about reducing their carbon footprint while he takes a private jet around the world.
“Rules are for everybody else, but not for him,” Perry said.
Kerry is utterly insane and should be in a mental hospital.
Be more open thinking like me. I’m disgusted by ANYTHING j f’n Kerry says. (He went to VN in case you hadn’t heard.). Hey j f’n k.....🖕
Or prison.
He should be in the ground

Glowing coals applied to his tongue would be a good start.
Kerry is playing only his "angle." Were he to divert from his focused script, he thinks he would "lose the narrative." That he has already lost it is quite another matter.
It is interesting that he is refusing to release public information about his Biden-provided budget and complete staffing. Millions are at stake here -- for him and his con artist kin.
What’s really disgusting is that this POS, John Kerry, is being paid with taxpayer money to travel, unfettered, around the world to spew ‘green’ crap.
Gosh, what a great article on Pendley. Thank you for posting this account of an honest reaction.
I have a different view. Yale grad so he isn’t stupid, decided young that he wanted to be a noted fish in the pond so went with the Godless leftist conspiracies of the day as his mantra. It has served him well.
Rush Limbaugh’s ideas of environmental issues being a religion ring true with John effing Kerry as a prime example. Normal folks don’t need the applause of man to feed a voracious ego. They are content with life as God has provided and their abilities warrant.
John appears to be happy supplanting God as a lesser entity than himself and the Kudos of a complicit public feed the need. Does he recognize truth, or is he in a State of blissful ignorance?
“Millions are at stake here” — only for Kerry and his (maybe) inner circle.
For the whole global warming scam, hundreds of billions per year (probably close to a trillion dollars) is at stake. They’ve built this massive scam edifice and have to protect it at all costs.
Kerry’s answers to the questions were pathetic, mostly along the lines of 1) shaking head in disgust at having to talk down to the idiot congressmen and 2) arrogant “DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM” genre of answers. Kerry knows absolutely NOTHING about science, technology or engineering and his answers show that in spades. So he always falls back to huffing and puffing an arrogant dismissal of questions.
Well stated. One of a number of scams, sad to say.
You wrote “John appears to be happy supplanting God as a lesser entity than himself”
I agree with your observation. The man has a monstrous, out-size ego. But doesn’t thinking that he is bigger than God strongly indicate a man with serious mental problems?
Swiftboat Rear Admiral John F’ing Kerry is at the top of the heap as a marxist dem.
Kerry is a scumbag who is filling his pockets and family fortune on a global scam called climate change, he’s f-ing the American people literally
“...he’s f-ing the American people literally”
Rep. Perry from PA told Kerry that point-blank in the congressional hearing yesterday. He told Kerry that his stupid climate policies are forcing people to cut budgets and quality of life because of the huge increases in energy prices. I was glad to see Perry lay it out that plainly — the climate scam is costing everybody lots of money.
I’ll settle for not in government anymore. The mental hospitals are overcrowded, and constrained by the Baker case and its progeny law.
I bumped into kerry at a 7-11 once.
He was a d-bag then, before then and still to this day.
One of luckiest hustlers in American history..
When I read the first line of this article, I almost choked.
Then, after a couple seconds, I realized that in this instance, “BLM” stood for Bureau of Land Management.
