In a public safety advisory issued on Thursday, the Oakland Police Department recommend residents to reinforce their doors and install security cameras amid a spate of home invasion robberies in the East Bay city.

"In recent cases, armed individuals forcibly entered the residences by kicking in doors, threatening the victims, and taking the victim’s personal belongings before fleeing the residence," the department said in a public announcement posted online.
Police offered several tips for residents to reduce their risk of an invasion, including making sure all doors and winds are locked and reinforcing doors with security bars or door braces. They suggested installing security systems with motion detection, surveillance cameras and alarms as well as outdoor lighting with motion censors. Another tip included trimming hedges and shrubs around the home to remove places where thieves could hide.

They need to defund the police more.
Say what you will about Oakland, but kicking in a door in that town does not enhance one’s life expectancy.
Funny how these home invasions don’t happen in places with a well-armed citizenry. I don’t ever recall hearing of such a home invasion here in North Idaho.
Our “diversity” here is measured in caliber of choice.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Dimm politicians start suing door manufacturers for making doors too easy to break down. Heck, they sued car manufacturers for making cars too easy to steal.
