Ron DeSantis positions himself as the next Ronald Reagan

'Voters are going to get behind us in ways that are probably bigger than we've seen in the last 20 or 25 years as Republicans.' Florida’s Governor is looking to a former California Governor as an antecedent for his current presidential run.

During an interview on Wisconsin’s Mark Belling Show, Ron DeSantis suggested his candidacy could be the modern version of the 1980 election that saw Ronald Reagan defeat Democrat Jimmy Carter.

“What I would just tell folks out there listening is Biden is kind of like Jimmy Carter. When Reagan came on the scene, the country lost confidence in Carter. They were willing to go in a different direction. I think we’re in the same place with Biden,” DeSantis contended.

“And I think if we offer a candidate like me who has a record of achievement and a positive vision, I think these voters are going to get behind us in ways that are probably bigger than we’ve seen in the last 20 or 25 years as Republicans...

DeSantis isn't likeable. The more he opens his mouth the further he slides in support. Trump even leads in polling against DeSantis, in Florida, by a large percentage.

There is a two-fold reason for his trailing Trump by a considerable percentage.

He hangs with the despicable GOPe, & he has exposed himself as a deceitful person, who only cares about himself, not the people of this nation.

Something people forget about Reagan was that he was on his own, it was a movement of one, Reagan had to shape the nation largely on his own.

There was no great conservative movement, no Rush Limbaugh talking to 20 or 30 million conservatives 3 hours a day, no Fox news, no talk radio or internet, the conservative Christians and pro-life movements were still young and new, there were no conservatives spread out in state legislatures and governorships or leading the party of moderates like Nixon and Gerald Ford, with Reagan bringing in the first GOP Senate since the mid-1950s but never the Congress(that took until the 1990s).

Why exactly are you running against Trump, Ron? That’s the question you need to answer. In the unlikely event you win the primary then you can focus on Biden and talk about Reagan vs Carter. But you have to win the primary first. Why should people vote for you over Trump? That’s the main question you have to answer at the moment, but you have few good answers.

Please explain exactly why DeSantis is “deceitful”. No one ever explains this. Saying it doesn’t make it so, and certainly not that “disloyal” nonsense.

Trump again, is popular in scale with many people. But not most. He does not have scope. And he is almost completely hated by Dems, period. He alienates millions.

He will not win, even in a pure fair election.

He is no Reagan.
