A few weeks ago we had an unusual spring storm — such are unusual out here in CaCaLand. Killed power (of course, a butterfly sneeze kills power from PG&E) and rained like ‘Ell. In the midst of this some thieving bastids raided the neighbors across the street — same house that local SWAT jerks raided years ago, that’s another story (house might be cursed). In the dark and with pouring rain they pulled bricks from their landscaping to prop up the car parked in front — and stole all four tires.
Coppers asked about house cameras. Apparently, such are presumed to work at 20+ yards, in the dark, in the rain, with power out — including street lights.
Yeah, right.
OUr neighbors to the side immediately installed cameras.
If it keeps me or mine out of hot water because it can show that someone came on our property and was aggressive then it keeps us safer.
If they could say what is REALLY on their mind.
Honestly I think they would say something like this to conservative men:
Kill yourselves
Give your wives and daughters, children to us (Turning the boys trans)
Donate your savings to the Dem party
Let us have your homes/Businesses
I suspect they secretly want genocide and this total dictatorship of their party.
Because they may find the possible criminal to be you.
That is a particularly notable risk if there is a "self-defense" incident in which you are somehow involved. But even if you have no involvement at all, there may be civil or criminal negligence liabilities documented on that video which can put you at risk.
Don't just turn over videos to the police without viewing them and talking to your lawyer first.

My local FFL has really good cameras in the store. A thief in the store was captured stealing some high end sights. The video sequences were captured and the local PD arrested the thief within 10 hours of the theft.
