Air Force cuts pay for toughest jobs, refuses to disclose details to spouses, public

The U.S. Air Force is cutting the list of jobs that qualify for its special bonus pay and has so far released few details about which jobs will fall victim.

An Air Force board, formed to review Special Duty Assignment Pay, reduced the number of jobs that qualify for the bonus money last month, slashing the number of jobs that qualify for the pay from 103 to 70 ahead of fiscal year 2024, and has refused to disclose which jobs will no longer qualify for the bonus, according to a report from Military.com.

Special Duty Assignment Pay can range anywhere from an extra $75 to $450 per month for service members taking on some of the service's toughest assignments, with many members choosing the assignments because of the extra money.

Margaret Thatcher...the Iron Lady broke a national strike by threatening to publish the workers salaries...meanwhile the union leadder was on an all expenses union paid holiday in Bermuda.

When I was overseas the stateside spouses would clean out the direct deposit accounts the moment their bi-weekly pay was deposited. The husbands would bounce checks -so that’s how everyone got their check cashing privileges revoked. They survived via the Dinig Facility (DFAC), with toiletries from the Any Soldier box.

Our government is incompetent.

I believe it is all proceeding according to plan.

The people controlling the government are evil. They are also competent at achieving their true goals, which if understood by the general population, would result in uncontrollable rebellion.

They want us enslaved or dead. Most of us, they want dead.

Our rulers do not need or want a capable military force. Such an organization would have the power to remove them. What they need is a much smaller garrison force that can run prison camps for storage of their opponents. And they need multiple police forces to make arrests of their opponents.

Why multiple police forces? So, they can arrest each other when one faction gets out of control.

Your alertness and experience have illuminated what you believe to be Fox's point in the article.

I am not so confident in Fox.

I suspect Fox's intent is to sow division within the families, and between service members.

There are numerous areas in America and American Law, where access to an Individual's personal information is controlled entirely by that individual, barring a court order.

Fox's allusion that it is terrible and rare is pure bunk.

However your personal experience is valid and true, I have seen the same.

Your post is very plausible and may be even likely.

The only thing that will cause issues is the killing and or incarceration of the most productive portion of the population. Presently Raytheon can't find enough workers and is forced to call on retired folks. I guess you can have Soviet/NAZI type forced labor camps but they are not the most efficient. So, then the Globalist Family that practices free enterprise will win in the long run. May be.

Yeah, I got treated quite well, too, pay and bonus wise.

However the Navy was forty odd years younger then, maybe was spendthrift in her youth.

There probably doesn’t need to be special duty pay for linguists anymore given all of those Biden borders busters that have signed up to defend the constitution—oh that’s right, most of the military age illegals can’t read or write in their native language or English.

Two things.
I worked for a defense contractor where the managers would personally handout the checks on payday. There were always the same wives in the parking lot waiting for their husbands to bring them checks. Then they would berate their husbands for having to wait so long for the checks.

Another thing. I commanded a NG company in the early eighties. A team from state briefed the unit on NG benefits. One briefing item was that state was going to send a letter to each spouse informing them of how much their spouse made from the NG. After the briefing, I had about 20 soldiers come to see. None of them wanted their spouses to know their pay. They fell into several groups:
- some didn’t want their spouse to know how much they made. They were skimming a bit off the top.
- some had convinced their spouse that they didn’t get paid.
- three had convinced their spouses that being in the NG was like being in a club and that they had to pay club dues to belong.

These adjustments are made from time to time. Has happened for decades.

Exactly. I saw a few individuals lose their bonus pay when their certification became a lot less in demand as a weapon system was taken off-line or reduced enough in number that they didn't have a shortfall of trained members.

The monthly language bonuses were some of the obvious ones to cut. I'm sure the languages in Afghanistan (Dari, Pashto Uzbek, Turkmen, Balochi or Pashai) have significantly decreased need other than simple phrases such as, "how much will you charge for the items we left in Afghanistan?"

However, family members, who help plan monthly budgets, have been unable to access a list of which jobs will be cut from qualifying for the bonus pay.

They don't earn it. My wife was a military dependent then military spouse for over 40. years.

Two things she learned

I wear the rank, she doesn't

Expect the unexpected, prepare for it.

Unbelievable.

Cutting pay of our troops, cutting back on benefits, cutting on the VA and farming them out to the border... And our “watchdog” media is mostly quiet.

But a few years ago they were tracking Trump, writing stories about how he was anti-service member, bad for vets, bla bla bla even as he was doing great things.

Reality is just how they want to spin it.

While that is true, I can point out that they likely speak Drug Cartel sufficiently to get along, and many Sanctuary Cities are considering them for their Police Forces.

Why not the US military, too?

"Our Government is incompetent."

I'd politely disagree with that assessment...
Over a period of 60 years, the government has slip-slided the American serfs into darkest tyranny without any substantial pushback...
What little pushback existed was eradicated with the J6 persecutions...

Yet more proof that The Big Guy,a draft dodger, has complete contempt for the US Armed Forces. As if we *needed* more proof.

I guess my concern is are they committed to becoming an American citizen or are just here to take what they can get without putting any skin in the game?

Some of the most dedicated American military folks I worked with in the Army and later in the Air Force came here as refugees from Cuba and Vietnam that came here as children. I wish we could swap our home grown leftist trash for more of them.

Excellent examples of language skills that might be less in demand, and certainly the pro-pay for obsolete systems is ripe for rejiggering. Early in my naval service, 1973 or 1974, I was reading in the personnel manual of various specialties including pigeon trainer and dirigible pilot.

As did some of the most dedicated and loyal men in my crew, they came as native Filipinos and earned their way in America.

Of course the entire process was legal, and supervised by American and Filipino authorities.

Every year this happens since forever. They go through which jobs get hazardous duty pay and other jobs skills. The pearl clutching on something routine is astounding.
