In the past, it was a disease that primarily affected older white men.
Now, kids and teens — particularly girls — are being diagnosed with kidney stones.
The demographic of those most likely to suffer from kidney stones has changed in three decades, according to a report from NBC News.
According to a study conducted by the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, kidney stones among children doubled from 1997 to 2012, with the research noting that black children and adults suffered kidney stones at a higher rate than their white counterparts.

Not drinking enough water and low level dehydration causes that. You can’t expect soda pop, koolaid, even gatoraid type drinks to be healthy for kidneys. Children need to learn to like plain water. And drink plenty of it.
Indeed, climate change because that entrepreneurial venture with taxes and products makes them more money, unlike the truth we’ve known for decades that it’s the soda pop we spend our money on then need kidney stone treatment. Much more money to be made in keeping the problem and inventing a new one as the cause. This is why we have to have shortened memories, two day news cycles and kill off the elderly so history can repeat it’s self and they can keep their slaves controlled. A few too many are still on to their games that go back to the bible. Jesus is flipping some tables in the temple. Better to be transferred into His Kingdom of Light than dwell in the kingdom of darkness.
Doubled from what to what?
“And less soda and iced tea.”
And coffee, all sources of caffeine. Stones are also more prevalent in locations with high mineral content in water, like NC where I live.
Unhealthy diet, not drinking enough water-sodas are poison, along with most other processed food-most of it is loaded with high fructose corn syrup. Sweet tea isn’t much better, especially the bottled kind-teach kids to drink water-unflavored/flavored without sugar or artificial sweeteners-everything people drink does not have to taste sweet...
I guess that 30 years ago they thought milk was a contributing factor
Interesting. My urologist said the opposite that dairy products and the associated calcium would help stones from forming. I was drinking 3-4 Diet Cokes a day & he said to dump them. Haven’t had one since he had to go through my back to remove them. That was 6 years ago and I go in annually for x rays.
Yeah I figured that. So many sites wouldn’t have gone out of their way to point out milk doesn’t cause them unless people used to think it did cause them.
