Depending on the amount of past foreign travel, a top-secret background investigation can take 6 or more months - higher clearances may take longer. Does anyone find it odd that no elected officials need to pass any background checks?
When you get your security clearance, if you then reveal the contents of a classified document, I think you are subject to vastly increased penalties. I think this new requirement is to ensure the lawyers can’t talk about any of the evidence to the press.

Considering the materials were declassified as soon as Trump took possession of them, there is no need for anyone to have a security clearance. Cannon is not giving off good vibes in this case.
First Mr. Off is prosecuting Trump aides and staff to get them t9o tutrn states evidence,
he calls Trumps attorneys to testify making them witnesses so they have to resign representing Trump,
and now Mr. Off insists that the lawyers for Trump get security clearance so as to get them knocked off the case for failure to obtain security clearance.
Mr. Off indicted TRump knowing that ALL of the documents he was going to use would have to be declassified. Now he is trying to keep the public from seeing theevodence he does noty have?
I’d say Mr. Off has no case.

It would be interesting to know the identity of any attorney who refuses to go through the security clearance approval process ... and why.
Who dishes out those clearances? The government! So, they can hold this off for however long they desire, so that the case happens during the campaign. OR, they can deny them on the flimsiest of evidence, or use what they find in the examinations to blackmail them.
But does the Judge hold a security clearance?
Are the jurors going to have to get a clearance?

I fully expect one or more attorneys for Trump to be denied a security clearance based on reasons meant to destroy the individuals who dare to represent Trump.
