United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Thursday launched a scathing criticism of Israel over what he claimed was its excessive use of force during the counterterrorism operation in Jenin.
Guterres said the operation had left over 100 civilians injured, forced thousands to flee, damaged schools and hospitals and disrupted water and electricity networks, reported The Associated Press.
He also criticized Israel for preventing the injured from getting medical care and humanitarian workers from reaching everyone in need.
“I strongly condemn all acts of violence against civilians, including acts of terror,” Guterres was quoted as having told reporters.
Asked whether this condemnation applied to Israel, he replied, “It applies to all use of excessive force, and obviously in this situation, there was an excessive force used by Israeli forces.”
Guterres called on Israel “to abide by its obligations under international law,” and to exercise restraint and use only proportional force.
“The use of air strikes is inconsistent with the conduct of law enforcement operations,” he stated before adding that Israel “as the occupying power… has a responsibility to ensure that the civilian population is protected against all acts of violence.”
Guterres said he understands Israel's legitimate concerns with its security. “But escalation is not the answer,” he said. “It simply bolsters radicalization and leads to a deepening cycle of violence and bloodshed.”
Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, denounced Guterres’ remarks...

He’s sad that not enough Jews died in the operation. That’s why he wants no airpower used, only IDF troops in humvees as sitting ducks. Israel should respond by barring him from their territory for the rest of his term.
I haven’t followed this at all.
As I understand it, there were terrorists in the camp - Israel has shared factual information and proof for that.
They went in (and I don’t know if they caught or killed the guys). From the article I read 100 hurt but no one killed - definitely not civilian.
Did it eliminate the terrorists?
Also, the article says this leads to a cycle of revenge - which is true - but I can’t see any way to avoid this cycle without initiative from the Arab side. Can you?
The United Nations awaits their Antichrist.
He will come.
Revelation 13:1-2
The First Beast
13 And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads. 2 And the beast that I saw was like a leopard; its feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority.
How many divisions does the UN have?
F the UN.
There won’t be Peace until every last Palestinian is dead.
Ask the Jews to commit genocide. How ironic. Um...no. I guess there won’t be peace then.

Hey UN: pound sand. If terrorists come around here I will use as much force as needed to convince the perps it’s a bad idea.
Guterres called on Israel “to abide by its obligations under international law,” and to exercise restraint and use only proportional force.
Using proportional force guarantees more casualties in the exercise.
Does the UN think that the Palestinians ever use excessive force? How about when they’re targeting civilian women and children? Or randomly firing rockets into residential areas in Israel? Are the Palestinians held to any standards of humane behavior whatsoever?
Start launching thousands of rockets at that monstrosity in New York and see how they like it.
He was born senile.
Let’s see now. Proportional force. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Let’s attack one of their naval bases and call it a day. Nuclear bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Excessive force!
Germany invaded Poland and then France, blitzed England? Let’s get them out of Poland and France, and blitz Berlin, and then go have tea and crumpets. Now that’s proportional.
There was plenty of drone and air cover. It just wasn’t needed.
The fact is, no country acts with the restraint of Israel.
And no matter what Israel does, it will be wrong. The UN is evil and will always side with evil.
It was needed when a group of snipers appeared in a graveyard overlooking the road where the IDF was entering. I have never seen Apaches deployed so rapidly afterwards. Israel is so damn impressive. If only they could always act decisively, without restraint.
