Mike Pence is threatening the Governor's 2nd place standing in the Volunteer State.
A new poll from the Volunteer State shows an uphill climb for Ron DeSantis in the 2024 race for the Republican presidential nomination.
Tennessee’s Beacon Poll, which was conducted from June 14 to June 23, shows the Florida Governor with just 12% support in the open Republican Primary. This puts him 49 points behind former President Donald Trump’s 61%. Meanwhile, former Vice President Mike Pence’s 8%, while no threat to Trump, puts him just 4 points out of second place.
The survey of 502 total respondents has a margin of error of +/- 2.87 percentage points. Republicans make up 429 respondents, Independents 67, and Democrats the remaining six.
DeSantis has two trips slated to the state this month, meanwhile, with both announced before this survey dropped Thursday.
The 2024 presidential candidate will deliver remarks at the Tennessee Republican Party’s 46th annual Statesmen’s Dinner on July 15. And Victor Ashe of the Knoxville News reports that Ron DeSantis is headed to that city July 25 for a fundraiser.
This is the worst Tennessee poll for DeSantis yet.

He peaked too soon, he made an enemy out of Trump, he runs sophomoric ads created by incels, he goes after people hoping to round up the trailer park vote, so to sum it up, Christmas came early this year.

Rhonda didn’t peak, so to speak.
The problem is that Rhonda went on a campaign tour.
People heard about this person in the abstract, a “conservative Governor of Florida who is like Trump but smart,” and were open to somebody fitting that description.
But then “Rhonda” showed up and Everybody Hates Rhonda, unlikeable and not very smart.
People who would choose Pence over others are not worthy of respect.
Whether they see him as the new Mondale or the new Dukakis doesn’t matter.

Hilarious! Marquette has long been known as a laughable poll.
So are most polls. But you want to Cherry pick. The only States that matters are PA, GA, MI, WI, AZ, NV and VA.
DeSantis badly trails in just about every poll. Cherry picking would be finding one in which he doesn’t trail Trump by about 40 points.
Trump is the nominee, folks need to just wake up to reality
I’m talking about General Election State Polls.
DeSantis is getting slapped around in national and state polls up and down the country. Hardly anybody but his own pollster (Romney’s former pollster) comes out with polls that say anything different.
I’m 5alking about PA, WI, MI, AZ and GA.
DeSantis trails badly in all of those states.
So does Trump, but ballots are the only thing that matters.
