A Texas professor who also works as a Pastor has been fired after teaching students that sex in humans is determined by X and Y chromosomes.
Dr. Johnson Varkey was fired from his role at St. Philip's College in San Antonio in January of this year after teaching at the facility for 20 years.
He was sacked after four students walked out of his class last November in protest over his teaching that X and Y chromosomes determine sex in humans.
In an interview with First Liberty Live, Varkey denied claims he injected religious teachings into his lessons - which students complained about.
Varkey said: 'I don't bring my preaching into my classroom when I teach about human anatomy and physiology. I just teach basic biology. That's all I teach.'
The former professor continued: 'X and X, those two chromosomes, make a person female and X and Y, male. That's all I mentioned in the classroom.
'That's just a mere biological fact.'
Varkey had been notified of a complaint being made against him by Vice President for Academic Success at the college Randall Dawson.
Dawson said in an email: 'I am sending you notification that Alamo Colleges District Human Resources department is in receipt of an ethics violation complaint.'
Varkey responded, saying: 'What was the complaint? I am not aware of any violations that I committed.'
He was then informed that any further communication would come via the HR department at the college.
DailyMail.com has contacted Varkey and his team for comment but he did not immediately respond.

He did not cause anyone to walk out.
They did it of their own free will.
They CHOSE to walk out as the entitled spoiled brats they are.
And some of these kids want to be credible doctors and researchers? Dumb and dumber. The graduates of this school should be red flagged from advanced studies. Let them instead get jobs at Starbucks.

I wonder what would have happened if the lecture had been round and wrinkled peas? Dr. Varkey, this is your chance to go out in a blaze of glory. Sue the complaining students and staff.

My son was a youth group leader at a church. A girl (a tomboy, not trans) asked what it would take to go on the boys retreat. “It would take and X and Y chromosomes.” The church then decided that anybody that identified as the opposite sex could go on the other’s retreats.
My son only did co-ed retreats after that.
They laid him off when he didn’t get the VAX and they said it was a bad example to the kids. He wasn’t sad to leave that church. He missed a bunch of the kids though.
None of this is a joke. It’s quite terrifying.

If what he says is true, he needs to sue those kids for harassment. Call them out by name. This chit will stop as soon as mommy and daddy have to pay lawyer fees.
The letter from the College is in the linked article. This occurred while he was teaching in a classroom on Lackland Air Force Base. I take it that the students who walked out were airmen, although it doesn’t say that specifically in the letter or article.
There is a medical condition called Androgen Insensitivity where XY infants develop infertile female anatomy, but it is extremely rare. Some Hollywood actresses are rumored to have this condition.
