Budweiser Catches Flak Over ‘Disgusting’ Fourth Of July Message
Daily Wire ^ | By Katie Jerkovich • Jul 5, 2023

Budweiser was criticized by social media users over a Fourth of July message the company posted Tuesday.

In the 30-second ad, F-16 pilot Lt. Col. Dan Rooney provides a voiceover promoting the partnership between the beer brand and Rooney’s educational scholarship program, Folds of Honor. It comes amid a massive backlash against Bud Light, which is owned by the same parent company as Budweiser, over its partnership with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney.

“Budweiser has believed in Folds of Honor for 13 years,” Rooney said in the voice over. “Today, we honor our veterans and the 44,000 scholarships awarded to their families. … Service never stops, and neither will we.”

The tweet from the company read, “To all who protect America’s freedom, This Bud’s For You. This July 4th, we’re proud to work with [Folds of Honor] to help military families today, and every day.”

Online commenters were quick to blast the company, with some accusing it of using dead soldiers to try to rehabilitate its image after the Mulvaney fiasco.

“Using dead soldiers to try to dig back from sponsoring child drag shows and misogyny is beyond disgusting,” one social media user wrote.

Another person tweeted, “Too late, Budweiser. Too late.”

While another added,”You’re ruined.”

There were also numerous comments from online users suggesting what the company needed to do was “Apologize.”

“Don’t understand how Budweiser just doesn’t come forward and apologize to all of us for their huge mistakes and make it right! ” one person wrote. “Maybe they would start selling a few beers. The Ad looks great but will not make up for their mess!

Another added, “Folds of Honor needs to find a new partner asap. Partnering with woke globalists is hurting a good cause.”

The ad was posted on YouTube too, and comments there were just as critical toward the beer company.

“No one actually serving, or who probably serves, wants anything to do with this morally bankrupt company,” one person wrote.

“It’s not a boycott, it’s banishment,” another added.

While another commented, “Bud’s determined to drag every past connection down with them. Wouldn’t it be better to apologize, fire those responsible, and start on mending…No? You sure about that, Bud? OK, then, carry on…just continue to ignore your customer base.”

It’s clear that AB is completely out of touch with anyone with minimal values.

Budweiser and Bud Light brands are dead. It is a rare case where parties on both sides of the argument don’t want to be seen with the brand.

As we are and there’s blood in the water. I hope we collapse the BL brand. They’d relaunch under a different name, but it would still be a mighty scalp. Next year corporations are going to be afraid and their pride observes will be much more muted.

Saw the ad and not offended in the least. Numerous people in the ad are holding Buds; not a BL in sight

Exactly. Billions lost, people laid off, factories closing all of these are preferable to the wrath of the woke mob they think they will get if they issue a real apology.
This means something and it’s not good

There’s something passive aggressive about that ad.

Budweiser hired former politicians and bureaucrats as marketing consultants to fix their woke disaster. As we all know, that means Budweiser has not accepted self harm.

Budweiser could issue an apology, explaining their idiotic insults to us in woke marketing were actually their compliance actions to regulatory government mandates thru the SEC DEI regulations.

If Budweiser did that and promised to ignore regulatory mandates outside legislation from our elected representatives, their sales would double.

If Budweiser continues to think politicians and bureaucrats can or should fix their problems, then they deserve a miserable death.

Bud should have issued an apology early on to their consumers. They made a huge mistake and needed to own up to it, instead they ignored it and tired to minimize it and never took ownership.

Budweiser is our enemy in a proxy war against our own government because we don’t have F-16’s to fight Joe.

Americans are incredibly forgiving. But to receive forgiveness, one must accept responsibility.

Bud Lite is crappy tasting beer. A lot of those “good old boys” have now tasted Yuengling and other brews of quality. Regardless of what Bud Lite does, they will not go back to drinking crappy beer. I myself am an IPA drinker. However, Yuengling and Shiner Bock I will drink. Modela Negra is good also.

When I came back from England many years ago we did not have any IPAs available in the USA. I had gotten accustomed to good IPA and Bitters. The only thing I would then drink is Modelo Negra. Most fortunately thousands of Micro Breweries have started here in the USA. It is rare you can not find a good local IPA or larger in most cities and towns.

Bud Lite and Coors and others of similar taste I do not drink.

I was at a 4th of July baseball game (pro) at the local ball park. Not one person had a Bud Light in there hand ... Modelo or Coors Lite ...

Not sure if they are all the same company ... but no one was drinking BL.

I’m equally proud of the Americans who are boycotting AB products. Until they come clean on this bungle and quit trying to say they had nothing to do with it, AB is going to continue to pay the price. I was in my local Kroger three days ago and the price of a case of Bud Lite was $16.95, several dollars less than other brands.

HOWEVER, it also had a mail-in rebate coupon which made the final price $6.95. They have to be feeling the pressure from us non-woke customers. Keep the pressure on...
