What exactly did she do that was “heroic”?
Using the word for everyone simply renders the word meaningless. So what then becomes of the fireman who goes into a burning building multiple times bringing out children? Or a soldier who gives his life to save others?

The patronizing condescension in these articles is ridiculous.
A woman who does something that men have done dozens — if not hundreds — of times isn’t “heroic” by any stretch. She’s not even a pioneer or groundbreaker in whatever it is she does.

I'm willing to call anyone who climbs onto the top of a huge cylinder of rocket fuel and have it ignited a hero.
