Poll: Vivek Ramaswamy now in Double Digits, Passes Mike Pence in the 2024 Republican presidential primary

Conservative entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has surpassed former Vice President Mike Pence in the 2024 Republican presidential primary, according to an Echelon Insights poll.

He is also catching up to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

On top of the survey, taken from June 26 to June 29, is former President Donald Trump with a commanding lead at 49%. DeSantis, meanwhile, is 33 percentage points behind with 16% of the vote.

DeSantis is just 6 points ahead of Ramaswamy, who are at 16% and 10% respectively. Next up was Pence and former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley — both tied at 5%.

In a head-to-head match-up between Trump and DeSantis, the former president has a solid 28-point lead over DeSantis, 60% to 32%.

The news comes just one month after Ramaswamy tested every member of the Republican primary by asking each to sign a pledge to pardon Trump for all federal charges against him pursued by the Department of Justice.

"This letter ... is my commitment on Jan. 20, 2025 — if I'm elected the next U.S. president — to pardon Donald J. Trump for these offenses in this federal case," Ramaswamy said outside the Miami courthouse where Trump was being arraigned.

"I have challenged — I have demanded — that every other candidate in this race either sign this commitment to pardon on Jan. 20, 2025, or else to explain why they are not," he added.

Ramaswamy has also caught the eye of Trump, receiving his praises in a campaign email sent out earlier this year, Outlook India reported at the time.

"The thing I like about Vivek is that he only has good things to say about President Trump, and all that the Trump administration has so successfully done. This is the reason he is doing so well," Trump explained.

You really should educate yourself before making baseless claims. Now go ahead and take your foot out of your mouth please........Seems most DeSantis backers, at least the ones who post here, are completely intellectually dishonest. It’s a pattern for sure.

“I’ve also been clear about my position on the trans cult in America: transgenderism is most often a mental health disorder & should be treated accordingly. We live in a free country & that means you’re free to act how you want as an *adult*, but you can’t foist your views onto everyone else. Leave our kids alone, don’t try to change our language, our bathrooms, our sports. Don’t mandate special “trainings” in our workplace, our schools, our military. “You be you,” but don’t force everyone else to bend the knee to your confused belief system.

The Left attacks me for this as “transphobic” and for violating “trans rights.” They’re wrong about that, and I defeat them in debate about it every time.

But I also believe in consistency. If someone wants to serve our country, they should be able to serve so long as they don’t create risk or undue cost for other Americans. The risk of letting someone with a mental health problem serve in combat roles is too high, but for most roles in the military (administrative, support, legal, etc.), I don’t think a categorical ban makes sense. If a trans adult can’t serve as a JAG attorney, why should they be able to serve as a public prosecutor, defense attorney, local cop, fireman, doctor, or nurse either?

To the contrary: reviving our culture of national service can help address our mental health epidemic. I embrace national service as a precondition for voting, so it’d be totally inconsistent for me to ban an aspiring citizen who wants to serve his country from being able to do so in a non-combat role.”

Sorry, but people with obvious mental health disorders shouldn’t be cops, firemen, or practicing medicine. I think he needs to exclude those professions from his argument.

Love how FReepers have to tell everyone why every candidate does not pass their purity test. He is not going to win but would make a good VP or IT specialist.

At least one of Obama’s parents was a US citizen, still not completely compliant but, again, no one has standing to object and no court would touch this.

Haley, not not eligible. She’s simply another anchor baby of Indian nationals. She’s run her course as governor and UN Ambassador. She cannot ligitimately be in any role that would put her in the line of succession to be president.

So a fireman with PTSD should be fired?

First of all, I said “obvious”.
Secondly, if he has obvious symptoms, he probably isn’t fit for the job. He could be given time off for therapy, medication, etc.
If all that doesn’t help, he should be let go.
