Proof is needed on this. I have not heard any negative things about him other than inexperience. Didn't we recently have a president who had the same lack of political experience?

He and trump could run together as big pharma reps that they are. Disgusting. People died alone in hospitals and homes without family. We’re denied the humanity of a funeral because big pharma had to “save” us.

Did you read his comment, tho? Here's the statement from his Twitter in its entirety:
I’m an unapologetic American nationalist & my top objective as U.S. President is to revive civic pride in America.
Earlier today on @ThisWeekABC , I said that as U.S. President I would not implement a categorical ban on trans people in the military (though I do support a *limited* ban for combat roles where the risk is too high). This upset some supporters & invited criticism from opponents. Here’s my view:
The reason we see the rise of secular cults in America - including transgenderism - is that we suffer a deeper void of purpose & meaning. I want to fill that void with a vision of what it means to be American. That’s why I favor ambitious plans to revive civic pride, including a constitutional amendment to make military service or passing a civics test a requirement to vote at age 18.
I’ve also been clear about my position on the trans cult in America: transgenderism is most often a mental health disorder & should be treated accordingly. We live in a free country & that means you’re free to act how you want as an *adult*, but you can’t foist your views onto everyone else. Leave our kids alone, don’t try to change our language, our bathrooms, our sports. Don’t mandate special “trainings” in our workplace, our schools, our military. “You be you,” but don’t force everyone else to bend the knee to your confused belief system.
The Left attacks me for this as “transphobic” and for violating “trans rights.” They’re wrong about that, and I defeat them in debate about it every time.
But I also believe in consistency. If someone wants to serve our country, they should be able to serve so long as they don’t create risk or undue cost for other Americans. The risk of letting someone with a mental health problem serve in combat roles is too high, but for most roles in the military (administrative, support, legal, etc.), I don’t think a categorical ban makes sense. If a trans adult can’t serve as a JAG attorney, why should they be able to serve as a public prosecutor, defense attorney, local cop, fireman, doctor, or nurse either?
To the contrary: reviving our culture of national service can help address our mental health epidemic. I embrace national service as a precondition for voting, so it’d be totally inconsistent for me to ban an aspiring citizen who wants to serve his country from being able to do so in a non-combat role.
I’ve said since day 1 that I would rather speak truth (about this, about civic duty, about Ukraine, about corruption) & lose the election than to play a game of political pandering to win. I believe this will ultimately be the winning strategy, but that’s not for me to decide.

This issue of natural born citizenship comes up a lot on Free Republic.
Some Freepers say that both of your parents must have been citizens, at the time of your birth, for you to be a natural born citizen.
Other Freepers say, as long as you were born in America, a citizen by birth, the citizenship status of your parents don’t matter. Those Freepers say any citizen is natural born, if they didn’t attain citizenship through the naturalization process.
So which Freepers do we believe?

Not so if you believe what Vivek says about the selection by process by the WEF. His explanation is that they never consulted him, and certainly did not get his permission to list him as one of their young global leaders. He claims that list is WEF promotional propaganda. I’m sure this will be fully aired in the first debate.

Consider that constitutional scholar, no less than Ted Cruz promoted the point that you had to have two citizen, parents to be a natural born citizen. Until he decide to run for president, and had to admit that his dad was a Cuban and that he was born in Calgary, Canada, where his parents were then living as residents. The issue has come up previously. When McCain ran for president., Congress actually passed a resolution to recognize that since he was born in Panama, while his parents were stationed there in the military, Congress was extending natural born citizen status to military dependents. Imagine otherwise that families would have to rush home to pop out their kids. The constitution is fairly clear about this, there are court rulings on this in the past, our current problem is the Supreme Court does not want to touch the topic, so they keep turning back challenges, saying that the challenger has no standing. Apparently no one has standing to address this issue. So it festers.
traditionally, citizenship, follow the father, then in the 60s I believe the law changed to follow either parent. Therefore, it seems as a practical matter that, if at least one parent is a US citizen, and the child is born in the US, there seems to be support that that kid is a citizen. But is there a clarity about whether the child is a natural born citizen since the second parent is not a citizen. if the child does not have dual citizenship, then it makes a clearer argument.
I and a few others are of the firm opinion, that if the child does not have two citizen parents, they are not a natural born citizen. They are just a citizen. Therefore, they are not eligible for president or vice president.
Personally, I will not vote for a ticket that includes someone not eligible to be president.

If Obama can be President, so can Vivek. Every time I hear him speak, yep is the first thing that crosses my mind. He is aggressive, confrontational and not afraid to win with the conservative view.......without being a jackass.
Seems like an All-American success story.

I understand your position.
Others say, that if you are a citizen by birth, and didn’t have to go through the naturalization process, as an immigrant, to become a citizen, then you are natural born.
There are people on Free Republic on both sides of the issue. I suspect the general public doesn’t care or know about this issue at all.
Realistically, your position will not stop anyone from running for president or vice-president. I wish the courts will address this, but they probably never will.
I expect this to come up in the future more and more, as so many immigrants, legal and otherwise, have come to America in recent decades. And we will see more and more politicians who are 1st generation of their families born in America. There too, would be good to have a definite court ruling on what natural born citizenship means.

We did. I wasn’t saying I thought of it as a negative, just that was the only negative thing OTHERS were bringing up about Vivek.

Obviously we need a clarifying amendment or a U.S. Supreme Court interpretation of the existing language, which has been bastardized six ways from Sunday to where no one is sure anymore. The problem is the courts refuse to give an ordinary citizen ‘standing’ so Vivek, who would have standing, would likely sue, which is a good thing because he would be the guy to bring it on.
