Former Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair Michael Steele last week said that he thought the GOP would have more power in Congress if the party “had our &*^& together.”
“Do Democrats understand how freaking lucky they’ve been that the Republican Party is so bats–t, Trumpy crazy?” former Republican presidential candidate Joe Walsh asked Steele on an episode of his podcast “White Flag,” released last week, referencing former President Trump.
“I don’t think they recognize that if we had our *(*( together, this wouldn’t even be close,” Steele said.
Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) “would be sitting there with about a seven or eight seat majority” in the upper chamber, “and the House would be closer to the numbers that I got in 2010,” the former RNC chair said.
You had control of the GOP for at least 4 years, Steele and you did butkus.
Trump won and actually enacted GOP claimed policies that they’ve been saying they want to do for years but never get around to it and you attack Trump.
Lead… follow… or get out of the way.
“ Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) “would be sitting there with about a seven or eight seat majority” in the upper chamber, “and the House would be closer to the numbers that I got in 2010,” the former RNC chair said”
He says that like it would be a good thing.
Having McConnell and Ryan in charge of the country would render the country non-viable in short order.
And this guy did such a good job of running the RNC - leaving it totally disorganized and lacking in funds. He was totally incompetent. We did well in the 2010 midterms organically - but would have still possibly done substantially better with a functioning GOTV effort from the RNC.
These are people totally in the pocket of a corporatized lobby election market. They want American politics to be priced like a boutique industry and cannot understand why politics doesn’t work like a spreadsheet. Running an election campaign is not like selling a recycled media product. You cannot simply make soundbites and expect people to listen or take you seriously. It can work for a time, but eventually you employ people without talent who stop believing you. Eventually, people see through the façade of your unsubstantial movement on the things you promise, you inability to take risks, your lack of getting the job done. And so all you have is envy because people with better sense about peoples motives and or more courage than you will ever have will be recognized.
Exactly
winner
PERFECT!!!
Talks like a democrat
Where exactly did the abortion roe vs wade issue come up randomly right before the 2022 election? Almost seemed deliberate the form of sabotage. Was this the work of the GOP-e?
Steele is worthless and must be ignored!!
“abortion issue”
Abortions are mainly done with pills nowadays and government has been proven to be unable to stop the unwanted use of pills.
As a legal and moral matter, however, there should never be a right to kill an innocent human being.
Each innocent human being contains DNA that can be scientifically proven to be partially of another person other than the person it is within.
For over 100 years slavery was legal in the United States, but it was never moral. Politicians in many states condemned it.
Michael Steele—as the GOP-e’s token black do you mean like when you were shrilling for such party stalwarts as ‘Maverick’ McCain, RINOs Romney and Ryan, and Jeb Bush?
Look at the last several RNC Chairman positions. Michael Steele -RINO traitor, Prince Reibus - RINO traitor, Ronna McRomeny -RINO traitor
“We have to face it: the abortion issue and bad candidates crushed us in 2022.”
I don’t know how the abortion issue crushed us, but the bad candidate meme you parrot is pure BS. That can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt by just looking at Fetterman. How worse a candidate can you get?
His ass is talking now. His head knows that the Republican Party does not want to be in control of anything. The Republican Party is perfectly content to be the Whipping Boy for the Democrat Party and are satisfied with the scraps thrown to them by the Democrats. The United States of America is ruled by one Political Party. But they have the sheep convinced that it is a two party system.
Michael Steele is free to help any Republican presidential candidate who he feels is superior to Trump.
Michael Steele might be able to make big money by making speeches outlining possible Republican policy.
>>The GOPe does NOT want control of Congress. IF they did, then they would be in a position to be held accountable for their actions and inactions.
In 2017-2018 the GOP did have control of Congress. However, Trump had no transition plan, totally screwed up staffing and appointments, and had no rapport with Congress.
It was a missed opportunity for which no one has been held accountable, least of all Trump.
Um, Dr. Oz was obviously a worse candidate. Demonstrated by the fact that he lost to Fetterman.
Says more about the voters than it does the candidates.
I thought the idea of abolishing roe vs Wade right before the election was about the worst time to take on that fight. Probably swayed a bunch of dem and independant Pro choice women voters who definitely would vote Republicans after that decision. Whoever made the decision to push that agenda right before the election should be fired. Period!
