An avowed nerd, I first read about Raiders of the Lost Ark through the official Star Wars Fan Club newsletter, Bantha Tracks. That’s how I learned about a sneak preview showing — remember those? — a few days or maybe a week before the movie’s official release on June 12, 1981.
Bantha Tracks gushed that the new movie — starring Harrison Ford, directed by Steven Spielberg, and co-written by George Lucas — was a thrill-a-minute throwback to serial flicks from the 1930s. I convinced my best friend Kevin to come with me, despite neither one of 12-year-old selves having much idea what 1930s serials were all about.
But we did know three things: Ford, Spielberg, Lucas. That was enough to place our butts in seats, loaded down with popcorn and Coke, for the sneak preview. We had no idea what to expect after the Paramount logo appeared on the screen. Just shy of two hours later, walking out into the warm midwestern evening, waiting to get picked up, we COULD. NOT. STOP. TALKING. about what we’d just seen.
“Thrill-a-minute” was a serious underestimation of the action/laughs/romance packed into Raiders’ 115-minute runtime.
The fun didn’t begin on the screen, however. It began with Lucas and Spielberg who, after making all those big-budget blockbusters, got the idea of shooting an action movie just as quickly and as cheaply as they could. They wanted to make a movie for the sheer joy of making a movie — and it showed in every frame.

I dunno. I've heard they're not very "inspiring".
I can't think of a Cruise movie I didn't like. Not even the truly awful "Legend". His "Maverick" was unexpectedly good. Not a fan of the person, but as an actor who can, or whose agents can, pick a good project consistently, he has few peers.
I liked Krystal Skull more than I liked Temple of Doom.
Am I going to hell? LOL
The whole idea is to replace all of the action movie heroes with Mary Sue womyn characters like Rey Palpatine and Captain Marvel.
Quote: “She has a new Star Wars movie with a transvestite Jedi ,LOL”
It is actually a show she plans to stream on Disney+. Nobody will watch it and it will crash like everything else. She totally hijacked the Mandalorian and turned it into the Strong Female Alorian. I watched two episodes and bailed.
Quote: “Not for nothing, left wing women, across the spectrum of professions, have been a disaster. . .”
An absolute and total disaster. They believe that their paycheck is to compensate them for spreading “THE MESSAGE.”
While I’ve never seen the “Crystal Skull” installment, my impression of “Temple of Doom” was that it was more famous for its “graphic” (at the time) violence than a good plot.
>>Mary Sue womyn characters like Rey Palpatine and Captain Marvel
There will never be another Mary Sue character to rival the fan fic Jewish girl who joined Spock in his pon farr and celebrated with a gefilte fish model of the Enterprise at their wedding.
Lots of negative postings here,,but my wife and i watched it today and it was the best movie yet.Dont hate it till you watch it.
I like Temple of Doom, it is underrated.
Honestly I don't know how they can top the last one (which I thoroughly enjoyed). But this one will not have Alec Baldwin at least,.

Hmm....
The movie cost $300 million or more plus the ad costs.
It has to make $900 million to just break even.
For Jame Bond:
I suggest Phoebe Waller-Bridge as 007 Bond, Jane Bond.
Plus have the movie produced by Kathleen Kennedy...
Well I am going to see my it in just a few hours, will give you a (very, very) general review.
😎
Interesting.
Not sure, not his best. But interesting.
Ye gads...I had no interest in seeing this film (Disney, Kathleen Kennedy), but these reviews are brutal...absolutely brutal.
Indiana Jones and the Money Grab.
They don’t have any new ideas, and if they did they couldn’t raise enough money off them to make a major motion picture, so another Indiana Jones movie was inevitable, and they had to hurry to make it when Harrison Ford was still alive
Why they set up PW-B to be the replacement does remain a mystery, though.
The Drinker actually saw the movie. reviews it personally here:
