Most of the registered voters self-identified GOP primary voters sampled, 56 percent, support Trump for the nomination, while 22 percent back DeSantis. The margin between the pair had grown 19 percentage points since February when Trump led 43 percent to DeSantis’s 28 percent.
Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has climbed to third place in this poll with five percent after tying for fourth place in May and not being included in February’s survey. Former Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) tie at four percent behind him, while three percent would vote for former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC).
Former Govs. Chris Christie (R-NJ) and Asa Hutchinson (R-AR) are gridlocked with Conservative radio host Larry Elder at one percent. Gov. Doug Burgum (R-MT), former Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX), and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez did not secure a point.

The poll also gauged voters’ appetite for particular GOP candidates, finding that Trump has the highest number of primary considerers at 84 percent. While 58 percent say they “would definitely vote for him,” another 26 percent say they “might vote for him” versus just 13 percent who are Never Trumpers.
DeSantis has the second-highest number of considerers with 69 percent, including 30 percent who “would definitely vote for him” and 39 percent who “might.”

Please clap!
DeSantis needs studded snow tires to get any traction.
Much worse.
But keep pushing that the current polls are relevant…so long as they support your candidate.
These pro-Trump polls take up a good part of FR every day, but DeSantis doesn’t live by polls. His anti-woke record speaks for itself, and he shows no sign of quitting.
GREAT to see Vivek now at #3, since he’s my pick if the Leftists (Ukraine War supporters) manage to somehow keep Trump from running.
Like Trump, Vivek also doesn’t want World War 3 - something the rest of the pack seems to crave.
“Former Govs. Chris Christie (R-NJ) and Asa Hutchinson (R-AR) are gridlocked with Conservative radio host Larry Elder at one percent.”
It’s tough to believe that Christie and Hutchinson are as high as 1% and that Larry Elder isn’t lapping them.
I’m sure they’re working on a Trump and the Seven Dwarfs book right now.
DeSantis needs studded snow tires to get any traction.
***********
He won’t get any traction and even though the primary schedule hasn’t been released, he will be facing an uphill battle when they are.
Here are three things Trump’s allies have been doing.
1) Trying to get as many winner “take all” primaries as they can. It means if Trump wins he gets all the delegates.
2) In primaries that want to keep a proportional system. Trump’s people are pushing for a 20% minimum threshold, if a candidate is under 20%...no delegates.
3) Pushing the caucus system, which should benefit Trump & MAGA.
If things go as planned the primary might be over in early April.
Look at when the spikes in support came- right after he was indicted in NY and then the last indictment. That is not a sign that people are just dying to have Trump be president again. It is an indication of people angry about the political and legal persecution of Trump, and expressing their anger by rallying behind him. That may well be sufficient for Trump to win the nomination, but I doubt it will be enough for him to win the general election. Nobody will bring out the Dems and NeverTrumpers like Trump, and I think there will be a lot of people who voted for Trump in the past but are not die-hard Trump supporters who will just not do so again, especially if he has more indictments or actually gets convicted.
As I have said before, the two most likely scenarios I see are 1) Trump gets the nomination and loses the election again, along with losing the House and Senate; or, 2) Trump loses the nomination and Trump goes 3rd party or the OnlyTrumpers stay home, handing the Presidency to the Dems. In the second scenario, it is possible we retain House and gain the Senate, as The Dems would not be as motivated without Trump on the ticket. So either way, I think 2024 is probably a lost cause.
His anti-woke record speaks for itself, and he shows no sign of quitting.
desantis also has a record of lying, playing games and jerking people around, and committing fraud with $82+ million in campaign funds.
If he’s doing that now, just think how bad he would be, if he were president!
blah blah blah...
desantis can beat biden in the general, but Trump can’t
lol......
So we are suppose to believe the current team desantis talking point now, and vote for desantis?
No @#%^$#$ way
More and more people are seeing that President Trump is the best candidate to clean up the corruption in Washington DC.
No, at this point I don’t think either Trump or Desantis can beat Biden - Trump due to the total and utter hatred he generates from the Left and the discomfort from the marginal Trump supporters over his indictments; and Desantis, because rabid Trump supporters like you will make sure he loses if he is the nominee, for daring to oppose and actually beat Trump.
If DeBackstabbingAsshole gets out now and supports Trump then he will have 6 years to rehab his very sullied and tarnished image.
About the level of intelligence and maturity we have come to expect from you…
Only a low IQ type like you see these times and “normal”. Desanctus repesents normacly politics when there is none. The ONLY person the has achance of setting things right is Trump. I know you know it too.
