CNN pushed gun control by citing accidental gun death figures for children but omitted the fact that car accidents kill 27 times more children.
In a Monday article CNN pointed to a study in the Injury Epidemiology journal, which “looked at cases over a nearly a decade in which children under 15 accidentally killed themselves or another child with a gun.”
It noted that using “data from 2009 to 2018 across 33 states, the team counted 279 cases in which kids under 15 accidentally died due to firearm injury.”

Now tell us how many kids drowned in swimming pools over that period of time.
I hope CNN mentioned how important it is the mask and vax your babies too.
There was a study, many years ago, into the nature of “accidental” childhood deaths involving guns.
The vast majority involved guns that were illegally possessed. A cousin or an older brother, involved in gangs or drugs, leaving a gun around where a child could find it.
I see no mechanism by which additional restrictions on legal gun owners could have any effect.
I’m for CNN control. shipping them back to China.
Shouldn’t they call for a ban on kids in cars?
I think more kids die from being left in the kiddie car seat in a hot car than ever died from auto accidents.
The legal requirement for a child car seat was just the beginning of the state’s attempt to separate parent from child.
I did just fine w/my mother holding me in her lap in the front seat when I was tiny.

They cannot understand the concept of nemesis--that any good thing taken sufficiently to its extreme becomes a bad thing, viz. a nemesis.
Government is necessary of course, and when government is small and uncomplicated enough for the people to control it, its benefit is a good thing; however, when government becomes sufficiently large, powerful, and complicated to control the people, its tyranny becomes a very bad thing.
Government--the best government ever devised, is a necessary evil. It enforces its authority by violence or threat of violence. It must be kept small enough to be controlled by the people.

They are NOT accidental when a child has access to a gun. When a three year old shoots a 2 year old sibling, GUNS AREN’T THE PROBLEM. When a 6 year old takes a gun to school and shoots his teacher, GUNS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM. When a drug addict is found to illegally possess a firearm and a plea deal is made to dismiss the gun felony, GUNS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM.
Wonder how many lives are saved by a would-be attacker’s fear that he would be shot if he goes ahead with an attack.
Shouldn’t they call for a ban on kids in cars?
So when do CNN employees start showing up to work with serious injuries or just dead? Asking for a friend.
