Channel 13's Yossi Eli wanted to see for himself the spiralling hate crimes against Christians. Within five minutes of setting out with a Franciscan clergyman, Father Alberto, Eli was spat at five times by Jewish Israeli settlers.
Eli asked what the reaction would be if Jews were spat at instead of Christians. "Just think what the reaction of those Jews would have been if a Christian had spat on them in Europe," he said, adding that being a priest for a day "was very difficult to digest."
According to a report in Haaretz, Patton mentioned the desecration of a Lutheran cemetery, the vandalising of a Maronite prayer room and the spraying of "death to Christians" on Armenian property, all within the space of a few weeks.

They don’t really realize what side their bread is buttered on, do they?
It’s all in the Book.
Buckle up!
Christians and Jews have been killing each other in the Holy Land for 2000 years. It’s muted now because the Muslims are a greater threat to both, but there is no love between religions there.
How revealing!

The sourcing for the article is “Channel 13” and “Haaretz.” I was going to publish the original Haaretz article, but it’s behind a paywall.
Yep. They speak for themselves enough.
There was a city some years back that allowed journalists to dress up as cops and ride along to show them what cops were REALLY dealing with... Walking in another's shoes is a great idea until HR decided impersonating a cop wasn't OK...
The women at The WALL were so RUDE to me....I was just trying to put a prayer note in, and it was a SCHTRUGGLE,( as The MOOCH would say)!
Thanks.
Islamist propaganda.
The situation of priests in some parts of Jerusalem may be different from that of Christians who aren’t clergy and who are in the tourist parts of the city.
Also, many of those Russians in Israel were Jews in Soviet eyes and in the eyes of many here who were campaigning for their freedom to emigrate, though they may not be Jews for Orthodox rabbis, so it’s complicated.
Romans 11:28.
YW. Needed to be pointed out.
.
I’ve been having an unusual amount of trouble drilling down to the source material on this story.
Other than to note this is a Haaretz (so far left, it makes the NYT seem unbiased, with a deep hatred of observant Jews) and Muslim production, I have only some general observations:
1. They use the term “settlers” here, although this appears to be Jerusalem. That’s a loaded, Leftist, term and attempt to lump in people in East Jerusalem (who have been there forever) with someone starting a farm off in Judea (who may also have been there forever, but it’s not the same groups).
2. This appears to be southeast of the Jewish quarter, right in an area by the Armenian Quarter.
3. That Aremian Quarter is dominated by some disagreeable people, who are nominally Nazarene, but identify strongly with the Muslims. They generally hate Jewish people and the state of Israel. (And, in fairness, they have some legitimate beefs.)
4. The Jewish Quarter down this way is dominated by various anti-Zionist Haredi groups. They hate everyone who is not part of there particular group, even other Haredi. They REALLY hate Modern Orthodox guys like me. They are flaming assholes to everyone, and do all sorts of bad things, including (probably, no one has been caught) vandalizing the Lutheran cemetery.
5. All of the above are enmeshed in all sorts of illegal mafia-like crime. Each is their own gang. Priests, Rabbis, whatever, are all often scum and were religious trappings, with little spirit, to use a Nazarene concept.
Given the above, this is more like a Crip walking into Blood territory wearing a blue hat than a religious fight.
Which is where the Pallywood Production Team of Haaretz comes in. They take what is effectively inter-gang hatred and cast it as some horrid religious fight.
There are Nazarenes all over Israel, visiting, living their lives, just fine. Heck, Arab Nazarenes are the single richest (and highest educated) demographic in Israel. They’re doing just fine, especially compared to how they would do in the PA or Jordan or Syria or Lebanon, where they are routinely killed.
Well, even if the story is true, the nice thing about Christians is that we will still forgive them even if they did spit on us :)
Well, I’ll hate those guys for you.
Complete dicks and give Jews a bad name.
My wife is Hasidic and very frum and had a hard time in that area when we got displaced from Gush Katif because she was “not from around here” so to speak.
They’re just gangs. And just like every other gang.
