How Long Can Wagner Boss Yevgeny Prigozhin Survive?

The armed uprising against Russia’s military command was called off just as quickly as it first began, but the fate of Yevgeny Prigozhin—the leader of the Wagner mercenary group who led the mutiny and incurred the enmity of Russian President Vladimir Putin—is now uncertain.

On Saturday, Prigozhin reportedly agreed to leave Russia for an “early retirement” in Belarus after withdrawing his troops from marching on Moscow in a deal mediated by the neighboring country’s autocratic leader, Aleksandr Lukashenko, a close ally of Putin’s. “Realizing all the responsibility for the fact that Russian blood will be shed from one side, we will turn our convoys around and go in the opposite direction to our field camps,” Prigozhin said in an audio broadcast on Telegram.

The paramilitary leader then left the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don that evening. In video footage, Prigozhin was seen smiling and shaking hands with his supporters who flocked to his car to cheer him on.

His current whereabouts are unknown, but on Monday, Prigozhin posted an 11-minute audio message on Telegram. Referring to previous orders from the Russian ministry of defense asking his commanders to sign government contracts, Prigozhin said the Wagner group was “categorically against the decision to close Wagner on 1 July 2023 and to incorporate it into the defense ministry.”

Polonium 210 has a half-life of 138 days. I’d it’s got him beat.

Putin and Russian military leadership have made Russia laughing stock of the world.
(Except for the Ukrainian civilians being killed, which certainly isn’t funny.)

Not too long, considering his guys took down some Russian pilots. He’ll be sent back to Moscow to ‘explain’ his side.

If he stays away from windows, I’d set the over/under at 3.5 days.

According to Prigozhin’s statement today, Wagner troops “regret being forced to attack the army aircraft but the bombs were dropped which caused the response.”

Putin and Russian military leadership have made Russia laughing stock of the world.

I think Russia is still stuck in 1917 while most countries have made strides since then. There's something wrong with the Russian mentality.

How many millions of dollars did the CIA give Yevgeny?

If Putin attempts to go back on the deal with Prigozhin negotiated by Lukashenko, then Prigozhin or other Wagner commanders will liquidate their newfound hostage in Minsk. The Wagner camp in Belarus is only about 50 miles from the capital.

It all depends on if he is sharing that CIA money with Putin, or not.

He'd probably be well-advised to not eat that borscht.

Putin and Prigozhin are playing the western press like a stradivarius. A little investigative work would reveal that they have history.

In the early 2000s, Putin started regularly feasting at Prigozhin's fine dining restaurant in St Petersburg

It depends on who his current employer is. If he thinks he has a deal with US spooks for asylum and mega payoffs in the West and their narrative about him changes, Ruh Roh.

Interesting.

(Putin is another guy who could probably use a "taste tester" these days, wherever he eats.)

Really, the Russians need to follow our lead out of their Dark Ages. You can’t find a single trans twerking exhibition in a single elementary school in Russia today. What troglodytes!
