WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Connecticut) today introduced a resolution to respond to the Russian Federation delivering tactical nuclear weapons to the Republic of Belarus. This is the first time Russia has deployed nuclear warheads beyond its borders since the fall of the Soviet Union, and represents a serious threat to global security in the midst of the war in Ukraine.
Graham and Blumenthal noted their resolution holds that any use of a tactical nuclear weapon by Russia, Belarus or their proxies, or the destruction of a nuclear facility that disperses radioactive contaminants into NATO territory would be viewed as an attack on NATO itself, requiring an Article V response.

So if Russia uses a nuclear weapon anywhere and there is some secondary fallout in any NATO territory, the US is going to have to retaliate by launching nuclear weapons at Russia? Is Lindsey insane? Why not just set it up so that AI automatically launches a full-scale nuclear attack on Russia if it detects any radioactive cloud anywhere near NATO territory?
Maybe reign in Russia by removing its funding from Russian ally India?

The fact that these two morons aren’t being laughed out of DC scares me. You must remember this warmongering congress has already overwhelmingly committed to blow hundreds of billions on this madness. These fools are capable of anything. Reinstating the draft requires only a simple majority congressional vote. I certainly don’t dismiss such dangerous efforts as this resolution.

This is the height of irresponsibility for several reasons:
- It is not binding on ANY POTUS or DoD. And no POTUS would adhere to it.
- It usurps the plenary POTUS power in international affairs.
- It creates a false sense of security for Ukraine.
- It proposes to subject the American people to existential war over a corrupt, backwater, 3rd world country in which the US has no interests whatsoever.
- It makes the US look stupid and weak.
It will NOT pass the US Senate. And it would have no force if it did.
Congressional resolutions - A way to sound impressive & knowledgeable when the reality is you know little about the subject and just want to hear yourself talk!
